This game is good and worth the price. Don't be fooled, it's not just "2D MINECRAFT". It's actually more complicated than minecraft. There's magic, actual companions (npcs) that actually do something, challenging bosses, etc. The world can get corrupted and it can be an issue. You need to contain/cleanse it so that it doesn't completely take over your world. Crimson, corruption, and hallow will spread and take over your world if you do nothing. You gotta take care of it before it eventually takes over your world.

Your first playthrough might seem boring, but invite some friends and it'll be fun. It can be complex at times so don't be shy to make use of the wiki. Make a house, get some npc companions, build, mine, explore, kill mobs, do anything really. There's a lot to do in this game. You just gotta know what to do. Exploring can be tough in the early game as some mobs in different biomes can do quite a bit of damage. Just don't build in the jungle, mushroom biome, hell, any dangerous biome really. It'll be really really REALLY annoying. Mobs will spawn constantly and attack you. Even if you manage to finish your house, the mobs that can go through walls will be an issue.

Just play at your own pace. Whether it be slow or fast it will be a good experience. For me, playing slow is fun. Getting to know the mechanics in this game and exploring the complex things this game has to offer is really fun. It's worth every cent and you most likely will not regret it. There's a lot of content in this game and you might find something new on your second playthrough. Just go buy it.
