Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional

I am chasing a memory.
One that's familiar and comforting for me.
I keep going after it, because it makes me happy and
gives me something to do.
Even after everyone else has left and moved on,
I am still holding onto this fantasy.
Many of my friends have moved on, they are married, have children.
That changes things, and it changed them.
Ironically... I haven't changed.
Right now time is dragging me through the mud. And while
I'm kicking and screaming, everyone else has learnt to walk.
And soon enough it'll just be me, utterly alone in my own world.
And it'll suck.
I guess i have already too much experience
with not knowing when it's time to stop and let go.
But life still goes on...
