This is a massive maybe for me, but overall if i wrote a long detailed review the end summary is just. "Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?"...."Ehhhh? Maaaaaaybe? It's okay?" Simply because of the strange structure of the game itself. I am writing this review as a game not a remake.

Simply put, the game is really great for about the first 40% of it. Then after a certain stage it just becomes extremely dull. New enemy types stop being added except for 1? I think. The difficulty is simply increased by placing excessive amounts of zombies, ramping up their health dramatically and trapping you in tiny rooms with said amount of zombies. The nemesis is really thrilling as he's significantly more relentless than Mr X, until he just turns into an extremely generic monster that roars a lot for the rest of the game, which really takes away any tension he can build up.

I'm not sure what happened to the story, as it seems most of it got removed from the original to the point where character motivations make absolutely no sense. Just generally bad writing that left me in fits of laughter in the final scene of the game instead of taking the situation seriously.

There can also be many situations in which the game just outright feels unfair. You'll often dodge but it feels extremely random if it works or not, even with plenty of practice. Sometimes you'll dodge only to watch that zombie still lunging as it magically slides across the floor without moving its feet another meter and grabs you. Others can simply result in pure stun locks. One boss for me opened with an unavoidable stunning attack. It rushed me before the stun wore off, hit me to which i was stuck as i was unable to move out of the spawning point. It then knocked me down, hit me as soon as my character stood up, then did this again to kill me. Losing the boss fight before i had at any point been given control of my actual character.

Overall, it's not a bad game. It's perfectly... fineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.... with some frustrating bits but most people were expecting better than just fine. Especially when 2 knocked it out of the park. I feel they should have focused on the first half of the game so much more than the second. Either way, pick it up while it's on sale. It's a decent game but truthfully unless you want new visuals, just go replay 2 for a better experience.

So they've basically removed the entire cash shop system and replaced it with in game currency. It's not perfect but it's 100000X better than before. With the in game currency being extremely easy to collect and general items being cheap it's a lot more fun and accessable in which you're rewarded for playing the game. I will change my review to positive , though keep in mind there is still a cash shop. It's just not excessively indulgent to take every penny you have now.

OLD
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Microsoft. I love gears of war so much and you absolutely destroyed it. Selling 40$ worth of advertisements that you get paid for putting in the game. Actually having the nerve to make people pay for what you get paid for putting in the game. I was so close to ignoring all of this until the new characters showed up. Frustrating grinding that doesn't fit the game to unlock new characters.

10 hours approximately per character that also forces you to play the abysmally boring escape mode. Grinding it myself for skins i simply hate the game now. I hate it because i can't play the game modes i want to play. Instead i'm forced into other game modes just simply to unlock anything. It's a true shame when i can't play a game how i want to.

The campaign is alright i guess, but it just suddenly "stops" with the promise of more content in the games future. If of course on the condition the microtransaction store provides enough money. Gears 5 is just too niche to support a live service...

I know technically... they're not SCP's but..... they're SCP's.. so i'm gonna call them SCP's.

Lobotomy Corp is a Tumblr management simulator. In where you manage a community in which each individual has very specific demands, in which they are not catered to will cause an emotional meltdown and as a result go on a rampage. Often causing a chain reaction of triggered individuals, as one will trigger others, causing even more chaos. (It's a joke, chill.)

Lobotomy Corp is a management game in which you hold and research SCP's. Each attention or the lack there of in very specific ways in order to keep them under control. As more and more are added to your management every day, your skills are pushed further and further. As more demands grow as well as the possibility of those demands overlapping with other SCP's in conflicting ways. Learning how to manage each one effectively to reduce possible risks.

Learning and managing how these things work is a strange and engaging experience, each SCP being a puzzle to be mentally constructed as you observe behaviour. Making sure you research it in the correct way and observe every little action it does in response. I've had an insane amount of fun just trying to work out why and what causes them to behave the way they do.

At the same time, the game is held back by a number of extremely frustrating issues. The UI is outright awful, confusing, unresponsive at times and can often get your staff killed. As you try to micromanage specific abilities of SCP's but finding the UI failing to do what you want it to do, such as trying to move staff away from the doom approaching from the other side of the hallway. An alert system that warns you but fails to tell you anything else, in which every so often you need to manually scan every room in the base instead of just listing affected rooms. Missing a single one can lead to a game over, as even a single death requires the day to be restarted.

The tutorial and translation are pretty bad. I'd outright suggest just going to the games wikipedia game and reading up on the mechanics than trying to understand the tutorial.

This is my biggest issue with the game, deaths. At the end of every day you're given points to increase staff attributes or to hire new staff and increase their attributes. Unfortunately if a staff members dies the number of points given is drastically reduced. So not only did you lose someone very well trained but you also lose points needed to replace them. A single loss requires you to restart the day or you just end up in a downwards spiral of losing staff but no points to replace them! PLEASE REDESIGN THIS!

My last issue, while most SCP's are strange but fun to explore, some can be utterly rage inducing. Often requiring you to go back multiple days to simply make sure you never pick them again! Spoilers incoming but it's to give you an idea of the biggest offenders.

1) A scarecrow that requires intelligence research to not break free, but breaks free if someone too intelligent does the research. Often the staff member assigned for this, will level up their intelligence by working on it. So you need a new staff member for that SPC every day!
2) An SCP that can wipe most the base if not clicked on every 2min
3) Worst of all... an SCP that will kill the entire base if you take your camera off of it. HOLY DAMN WHYYY?! If you get this guy, ALL your hours need to make sure this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is always on screen. WHY?! It's AWFUL!

While i have many complaints, Lobotomy Corporation is a diamond in the rough. It's many issues while frustrating are pushed aside by how unique and interesting the gameplay is. I know i complained a lot but that's because i absolutely adore this game! It's just so rough around the edges. If you're into SCP stuff at all, pick this game up and even if you're not, it's a great management game on its own.

Not sure why we have to pay for this as so many people mentioned. I presume it's regarding PG ratings and it's a way to get around it? No idea but just make the game cost 63$ on release if you really want the 3$ that badly.

I mean do i recommend it? I sure, sure but it feels more like blackmail/extortion than "hey check this out."

If you loved Yakuza 0, you'll love this game to. Sadly though, probably not as much. While it has all the things you love from a Yakuza game is just feels.. inferior to 0 in most ways.

It feels significantly more padded, the story is shorter, less engaging and filled with more cliché characters than a complex story of dynamic characters.Instead it just throws out new villains right at the last second with the personality of "hahaha i sure love being an evil mastermind for no reason!" It's more of the same, just well, not as good.

A little wonky in some areas, such as facial animations. The plot is also pretty overwhelmingly thrown at you, so if you lose track it becomes very confusing very quickly. With that said, a wonderful horror game that really shows that midbudget games deserve a place in the market! <3 I wish my best to this developer and hope they continue to make great successful content.

I want to like this, i really do but there is just some absolutely insanely awful game design sometimes. It's pretty much the first game but less well designed.

What do i mean by bad design? Well for one example, there is a level in which the enemy gets the first turn. They start behind you with a tank that has automatic fire without using its turn. The AI doesn't have any form of balancing for this design. So when the enemy goes first, one level he can and will wipe out three or more of your team before you even get a turn. Instantly just driving up to your spawn position before you get to play while its automatic shooting means it doesn't even need to use a turn to attack.

Another very common issue is mission gimmicks absolutely destroying you. The way can be clear, you hit a point and then something happens. For example an armored train appears RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. Pooping out new enemy units and the train itself, which then after the cutscene ends... INSTANTLY kill you with automatic shooting due to you being too close.

Another... i was on a map, then suddenly it said if i don't move before my turn ends, i will die due to being crushed by an avalanche. Issue was... that movement was the end of my turn, to which well.. my turn ended and i instantly died.

It's just... how? These things shouldn't be in a high budget game. That's really really not fun, it's frustrating. Some maps just require you to fling yourself at the wall until you know what gimmicks are going to happen before hand. It's just so awfully designed. Enemy units just instantly spawning in melee range and getting turns or just gunning you down for being too close and not in cover.

The rest of the game is perfectly decent but it's hard to enjoy something when it has one absolutely terrible flaw that breaks the entire game system.

Maybe it gets better later? Just right now i'm extremely unimpressed. With a few friends who had been endlessly hyping this game to me i'm left sorely disappointed for a number of reasons.

So far, combat just feels so insanely dull. Sure unique enemies but in the end so far they all play the same. You hit the legs and belly until it roars then you roll away. Then when you hit its back, you roll when it swings it tail, repeat on every monster i've met so far. The worst is just the awful controls.

One aspect of the controls drives me insane due to just how it's missing. It seems absolutely insane to me and i doubt i'll get used to it anytime soon. When you start attacking you have no ability to turn your character at all. As a result when a dinosaur slightly moves left or right, your character will be left swinging their weapon like crazy and missing every attack. The insanely unresponsive controls make this so much worse. A monster moves an inch to the side and you have to wait through slow animations and then long pauses of not responsive controls before you can even turn to face them again. By this time you've either been attacked or it's moved once again.

A mixture of unresponsive controls that take forever to respond after a single attack. Depending on the weapon, you're usually idle for a full second after an attack before any other form of keys will register. That and a constant battle with a confused camera which gets the game confused with your ability to dodge. Numerous times i find myself holding left and pressing roll, only for my character to roll directly forwards into an incoming attack.

Meanwhile the game will give you an insanely long tutorial of how to use a menu. Other times it simply won't tell you how to do anything at all. There are aspects that can feel extremely complicated to a new player that are completely lacking a tutorial, leaving you absolutely confused of how to do it.

It's not an awful game... it looks nice and has a cool idea. It's just feeling so extremely basic for me right now. Bad controls, camera and tutorials are just making it a very dull experience for me. I'm going to keep playing it occasionally but i'm really unimpressed so far.

Edit: Little sad that i have to point this out but regardless. My review is MY opinion, the game contains things i do not like. If you like the things i do not like, that is perfectly fine. Liking the things you like, does not mean mine or your opinion are factually correct, it's an opinion. You're welcome to write your own positive review if you feel that way. The game just has so much stuff i don't enjoy.

An extremely well designed Hex tiles game. The balance is pretty solid, heavily rewarding a wide variety of units instead of just spamming the biggest tank. All the factions play in a fairly seperate way to each other. There is little to say except well.. it doesn't really do anything wrong. It's exactly what you expect but in a good way. It's simply just a very very well designed game.

My only complain is the bizzarely low budget that is clearly shown in some aspects of the game. All the factions have the same static picture introduction just with a new voice over. The animations are really bare miniumum and need some work. The UI looks... amature isn't the correct term but i would explain it as, effective but with no visual flare/design. All just signs of a limited budget. Worry about making a good game first, the rough edges second.

I really hope with the success of the game they go back to the UI and animations. Just tidy them up and add a little more functionality/tools when giving orders. Otherwise wonderful game and i strongly reccomend it! It's not perfection visually but its refreshing to see a game built with such great design!

I really want to write a positive review for this game, so badly. I've never felt so conflicted on my feelings and my "yes or no" answer but right now i really can't suggest anyone buy this game.

Why? Well.. it's kind of not finished. Sure you have an ending but... if you're a "normal gamer" then you're not going to get to it due to horrific game design that seemed to be untested.

Simply put, the first act is pretty "okay" it's fairly balanced but a little dull due to lacking abilities that are interesting. Then act 2 is pretty open, there is a lot hidden and a lot going on, the theme of the game shines. You get new skills, story development and a fairly (most the time) balanced game. Act 3 then becomes oddly rushed.. with underwhelming endings to story arch and bizarrely easy fights. It's not the worst thing ever but it did make me feel a little concerned the game was losing direction.

Then i hit act 4.... oh boy... act 4... i.. i'm not too sure how to describe the car wreck that is act 4. Simply put, you start act 4 at level 19. The bosses and most of the enemies are level 20, which doesn't seem like a big deal... until you realize that the difference between that 1 level in gear is around... 200-300%. Yes... your items double/tripple in effectiveness from a single level. Unfortunately... you can't hit 20 without doing a number of quests in act 4... which results bosses just instantly killing your entire party in a single shot. I had a look online to see what the MLG pro gamers had for advice. The answers? Pretty much abuse flaws in the AI or bad balancing that helps you. There's no actual fair way to play act 4, you're supposed to abuse the game in order to progress. It's not something i want to do because i just don't think that's very fun.

Act 4 simply isn't anywhere near finished or even tested. Not only is the balance an utter mess, but so are the quests. Gone are your multiple options and dialogue with other npc's about your situation. Everything becomes a very finite line you MUST follow. A guy who got married on this exact day wants you to murder his new father in law, the ONLY way to finish it is to do it. Not tell his wife, not to get the local "police" involved, not even to mention why in his basement is effectively 30000 tonnes of this worlds equivalent of nukes. Just no, you're selling a product as if finished when it's clearly not. When act 4 is cleaned i will happily change my review.

And yes i know, people will tell me to git gud in response.
