by the good graces of Yoko Taro I have (somewhat) completed the game, agreed to delete my files, and feel good about it all.

I love this game with all my heart. I want others to experience the same; to find out what a beautiful, wonderful, and master crafted game this is.

Not only will this game provide those who wish to grind an MMO 16h/day with tremendous amount of content but it simultaneously manages to provide those who wishes only to complete the core gameplay loop with satisfaction.

I cannot recommend this game enough and it will for the foreseeable future be the game I go-to recommend in any case other than for non-MMO's.

TLDR; Game was extremely unbalanced before, recent updated addressed it, now I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Huge balance issues which are furthered each and every update and previous balance are barely touched. Dev streams reveal new things that are often so broken that it would make Riot Games blush. Huge potential but devs are hugely biased and only seemingly hear complaints from one side or the ones they want to hear.

EDIT:
As an example:
One faction, has a Tank called Mass Produced Tank (MPT). Given then name you'd think it would be possible to produce an enourmus amount of these tanks, and you would be right! This resulted in spamming Tanks on the battlefield which could only be met by spamming Tanks from the other which are generally slower. Now, who do you think the devs gave the solution to Tank spam to? The ones with a mass producable tank or the ones with slower Tanks? You guessed it! The ones with mass producable tanks! Now also include the fact that they also got the better Anti-Tank Infantry Weapon and you got yourself a whole lot of bias for one side, that the devs refuse to acknowledge. This is also fantastic for the players because the devs don't release hotfixes. The updates only come AFTER wars (time frame was generally 9-14 days per war but devs are trying to push for ~30) have been fought.

The MPT faction are also in constant disarray compared to the slow tank faction but somehow still able to push back and win. It will be difficult to really understand how important unification is in this not having played it yourself but if you trust my word, you can do almost nothing without it. Which only further proves the bias in stats and equipment one faction holds over the other.

EDIT 2:
After some time I realize that this not recommendation is just negative, but I wouldn't have spent so many hours inside this game if it was just bad.

The devs are absolutely and astonashingly amazing at designing and implementing *neutral* mechanics, things that affect both sides. They are great fun to play around with. The big issue is that they seem incapable of balancing and it keeps on getting worse (the balance).

EDIT 2:
Before all devs were playing Faction A. Recently they hired a dev, that plays Faction B. The balance update after the new hiring while not fixed, addressed the huge amount of balancing errors that existed. They're not fixed, but now it at least feels worth both playing the game and trying to give the game feedback in a way that doesn't make you think "Why am I even doing this?".

I can absolutely recommend buying and playing this game in it's current state. In fact, I hope you buy the game to support the devs continuing to make this game and strive for better quality!

The only good spiritual successor I've found to OpenTTD. The updates keeps adding features OpenTTD has but also even more amazing features.

Bias: I love the Cyberpunk genre. I also did not watch or listen to any of the marketing/release material except the very first trailer. Ya know, the one playing Bullets by The Archive.

TLDR;
Amazing story, probably the perfect one for Cyberpunk enthustiasts, with good acompanying content. Not good for those looking solely for an open world experience.

Currently the most compelling reason to get the game is the insanely good story. Much like Witcher 3 the side quests in Cyberpunk 2077 delve into insane detail making out what would probably be main story quests in other games. As for the main story? There were several points of the game that brought me to the brink of crying, and I wouldn't say I'm the type to - but you'll have to take my word on that. First time I finished the game I got the feeling you know very well, the one when you have finished a great story and you just feel empty or void inside. Well, the main story didn't only leave me with that feeling but also a longing for the characters I had met, which makes to show how well written the characters are as well.

A good reason ontop of that, but not by itself, is the weapon gameplay. There is a lot of variety in weaponry you can have. Shotguns, Snipers, Rifles, Fists, Knifes, Pipes, there's a lot of them. All of them feel very satisfying to use as well as long as you don't decide to use say a knife on a long range build.

I didn't start playing Cyberpunk 2077 until just a couple a weeks ago (Past patch 1.1). I never experience the game breaking bugs that happened at launch. The only bugs I encounter are the typical AI bugs, such as seeing you even though they're looking away, some audio not starting, and some objects spawning inside of eachother, but only occasionally.

As for the open world experience, it's both great and bad. While you are playing the main story there are open world activities you encounter and play; Side quests (maybe you don't agree to this being an open world activity), gigs, and NCPD events. They fit the narretive extremely well when played alongside the main story as they let you play out the up and coming merc. Further choosing the sidequests feels, at least to me, like I'm playing out my character, the one I created, even more and making the experience even more immersive. This also chains with the first paragraph.

However, as just free roaming it's difficult to get into it. It starts to feel more like repetetive grind. It's honestly more fun to just drive around the world at different times to look at it, which I highly recommend as well because the world is truly beautiful.

I have heard complaints about the driving but I can only disagree. Each game has it's own way of tackling driving and I'd say this one has the best one for immersive experience. It drives as it looks.

I'm sure there's plenty of more topics to bring into this review but these are the ones I could think of for now.

I would rate this game 10/10 for story but have to lower it to 9-7/10 for the game as whole.
