This is a very fun game with a few reasonably annoying issues, which I'll list first:

The new UI is not great. Actually, it's quite terrible. It was very clearly re-designed to promote in-game micro-transactions. Some of the navigation that you would do between every game, such as "Change Hunter" / "Modify Hunter" have become a slog to click through. The Battle Pass and other purchases are thrown in your face often, which as someone who purchased the Battle Pass I find it very annoying that I'm constantly reminded of the "Battle Pass Bundle" option, which is redundant given I'm already basically done with the thing. The game's menu looks more like what you'd expect from Fortnite, APEX: Legends, or a mobile game.

Another not-so-great part of the game are the servers. They tend to work fine most ((borderline most)) of the time. However, you get the occasional game with brief rubber-banding or lag issues that are most certainly server-side (as I play with friends, I can attest that we are all getting the issues simultaneously). But, less frequently yet far more frustrating, are the server breaking issues. On at least three occasions since the update, I have encountered servers that were so rife with connection issues that it was almost impossible to move. One of these times my group had to work our way through some of the most severe rubber-banding I've seen in any game to date just to extract our hunters alive. Needless to say, the servers need a lot of work, and this should have been addressed in this most recent overhaul update, instead of ignored from previous complaints.

With the bad stuff out of the way, I will say that the game is immensely fun for that niche group of players that don't mind the slow paced, high-risk style of gameplay. As a lover of games like this, I find Hunt to be among the best of them. If you can look past the issues, then I highly recommend giving it a try. There's a lot here in terms of replayability and content that justifies a $30 price tag.

It was fun, but (very) quickly lost its novelty.

Always remember to take 2.4 seconds to enjoy your surroundings.

Edit: Come on... Like, come on...

Edit 2: The real Automatons have been defeated.
