I got this as part of a Humble Bundle. While I like the HR Giger aesthetic, overall the technical execution feels a bit subpar. Most of the menus can't be used with a controller. The voice actor recording quality isn't that good. The first missions require opening a bunch of drawers and are very tedious.

My first real shooter. The RTX port was alright, made it run on modern hardware easier, but Nightdive steals the show once again. Things I've noticed so far:

- knockback when shooting enemies with double barrel
- levels have changed slightly
- seems like being able to take the elevator back to level 1 from level 2 is new
- none of the high glossy junk from the RTX port

I've beaten this game a dozen times by now and I'm looking forward to playing it through with this new engine.

My first real souls-like. It's a lot of fun. Expertly assembled.

Plays great on my Steam Deck. In fact, it looks better on the SD than on my desktop with an RTX 4070...

The gameplay departs from most of the Resident Evils. But, the levels are a return to the familiar metropolitan and so far I like it a lot better than RE5. The levels really do remind me of RE2R. While it uses the same engine as RE4 and RE5, RE6 obviously inspired a lot of the features that went into the RE Engine used by RE7 and all of the remakes.

The partner isn't as bad as in RE5. Overall it's a bit run and gun heavy but in a nice way. I'd rank it above RE5, RE0, and the two Revelation titles.

Ehh... It's about the worst RE game I've played so far. The AI is super annoying. But after getting it on sale for about $5 it's fair to say I got my money's worth.

UPDATE: Well, I beat it. The game is okay. Buy it on sale. It's still pretty buggy considering how big and complex it is.

Pressing the screenshot button often crashes the game, this affects me and a friend. Every time I launch I have to click through multiple Windows security confirmations for Ubisoft Connect.

Ubisoft Connect is pretty buggy. Both my and my friend always appear as away to each other. When we play a game together we'll often get heavy lag and enemies that rubber band and fly around. Last night we had tons of disconnections and errors when attempting to connect to each other's instances.

The core gameplay is way too easy. The map is huge but it's too easy to get around. Being able to quick travel to places you've never visited makes the game less fun. I really wish the enemies were smarter and in greater number. At this point in the game I always let the enemies activate the alarm so that there is more action.

The more expensive supremo scopes are worse than the cheaper scopes; for example, they have inaccurate cross hairs drawn on them.

The game comes with a whole new world and story but doesn't add much that Far Cry 5 didn't already have. The game relies heavily on concepts from its predecessor, even down to the poisonous crops.

Ehh... It's okay so far. The game is basically the same as Resident Evil 1 HD, same engine and fixed camera angles and tank controls. This time you switch between two characters and there's no storage boxes. Luckily you can leave items on the ground and come back later.

Just like with RE1 you'll probably want to install the door skip mod.

The game is currently unplayable on the Steam Deck. Some rooms have animated backgrounds that will fail to load. There is also a visual streaking on the screen, usually referred to as "green lines" in the forum. Those can be fixed by goofing around with different versions of Proton. The main issue is that the game randomly crashes when switching camera scenes.

Several years later and the graphics are still fine. The tank controls can be learned pretty quickly. The other controls are all pretty weird but you'll get used to them as well.

I bought this game for $10 when bundled with RE1. I wouldn't recommend buying it at full price.

I'd be happy if this game were remade using the RE Engine.

The game is pretty good. It's Terraria but with infinitely more planets. The procedurally generated persistent universe thing is very clever.

Great game. You'll get used to the tank controls within an hour. Plays perfect on the Steamdeck.
