The puzzles are well designed, but the game is constantly holding my hand in a way that the original portal games did not. Virgil is always giving me directions, barking up orders, and telling me how to progress. "Don't go in the elevator, there's a pipe behind it." "The testing track is closed, try flinging yourself over it." "Remember, you can turn the power on and off again whenever you like!"

This game would be a lot more bearable if you had the option to disable most of Virgil's dialogue. I feel like he removes a lot of player agency from the game by constantly stating the objective, stating what the player should be thinking/feeling right now, and holding our hand like we've never played a portal game before.

I had my eye on this game for quite a while before it released, and I didn't even notice when it did. I randomly received an alert that it was on sale, so I bought it in a heartbeat. It's a really relaxing title for people looking for a fun time-killing challenge, or people who just want to build the perfect landscape.

I will say this: the creative mode could really benefit from a more in-depth tile menu, so I can hand-pick my tiles more carefully, rather than having to rely on RNG.

Great game, I enjoy the progression and depth to it, however I am continually disappointed at the way it runs. It stutters and freezes quite often and has issues with pop-in. Otherwise I love everything else about it.

I first got this game on easter when I was like 7, in the year that it came out. I'm now almost 20 and it still remains one of my favorite game franchises of all time. It was also the first game I played to completion on my own without my siblings help, and after a youth spent playing these games, this is what I have to say: Screw Leske, Gorim supremacy.
