This game is in early access and it shows. That said, it is obvious to me that this is a passion project and there are no signs that development will stop any time soon. At the time of writing, it's very much playable and quite fun. If you're on the fence, try the demo! I don't know if it's up to date at this point but it's what sold me on the game.

The gameplay is fun. The story and writing are incredible. Actively updated and worked on for years.

Okay game. Not worth full price. Has some good parts, and some infuriatingly bad parts.

Dev went on an absolute meltdown using the patch note/updates system a handful of times. Most recent one, and the one that prompted this review, is about "fraudulent reviews."

Removal of beta mechanics and gameplay features to be made DLC content is unsurprisingly unappreciated.

Game's okay, but the dev's behavior is extremely unprofessional and does not bode well as to the future of the game and the studio.

Additionally, it appears the devs are abandoning this game on Steam and it will supposedly no longer be receiving updates here. Take that as you will.

My biggest gripe with this game is the lack of a melee weapon, and that really didn't matter to much to me.

Game was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing.

It's unfinished. It's been in alpha for FIVE YEARS. Five years. Let that sink in a moment. I don't know what the hell the devs have been doing either, it's been about a year since the last update (any update at all, there haven't even been small bugfixes). They're about to update to Alpha 17 some time within the next year though.

I don't think this is ever coming out of early access.

Don't get me wrong, I do love this game. I have 500 or so hours on it at the time of writing. But if there was a good alternative I would switch in a heartbeat. This game fills a very particular niche of mine that other games don't (unfortunately).

Not to mention the pricing - priced like a full game, advertised as a full game. The only place I really see it say that it's still in alpha is the steam page, and that's just because they have to.

Also it runs like ♥♥♥♥ and is buggy as hell.
