Early Access Review
Very enjoyable game with a lot of potential as development continues. This game just feels good to play.

Pros:

* Solid ship combat, in line with what I'd expect for a game of this genre.
* Great writing across all the different races you encounter, and the various celestial body descriptions.
* Lots of fun little references to sci-fi pop culture which don't at all feel out of place.
* The puzzles are fun & satisfying to complete, while helping to break up the gameplay a bit as you explore the galaxy and add depth to the game.
* Exploration feels rewarding.
* Different weapon types available for ship & combat playstyle customization.
* Addictive - "just one more jump!"
* Core gameplay loop is solid - explore, shoot, kill, upgrade, repeat.

Cons:

* There is no variation or tiering for ship modules. E.G. You don't get to choose if you want 2 big plasma cannons or 10 small ones. So by end game you ship is most likely going to be largely composed of a bunch of whatever weapon modules you specialize in, each looking identical, and making your ship look pretty much like an undifferentiated blob. Having tiers or at least variations of each module type would really help to make ship customization more interesting.
* Faction interactions are pretty shallow at the moment, which is a shame given the good writing. I'd love to see more factions and things like faction missions.
* Because weapon types are locked behind not just research points but also story progression, early game feels very samey and you're not able to differentiate/customize your ship until much later in the game much beyond module placement.

Overall any things that I feel are shortcomings of the game amount to me wanting more of it, because it is already quite good. I'm very much looking forward to the future as development continues.
