nice and good

It's Resident Evil, and it's great.

My game of the year for 2021.

One of the most fun "souls-like" titles I've played. Ticks all the boxes as well as having a few tricks of it's own.

An excellent update of the Wonder Boy 3 formula. If you like those games or Metroidvania/platformers you'll probably enjoy this. I hope a sequel eventuates.

It gets really boring after a while unless you pay out for diamonds. Plus they keep deleting player accounts. Mine has been deleted twice now and I can't be bothered going through all the red tape to maybe get it back.

I had previously refunded this game due to constant crashes. However I rebought it as part of a bundle during the Christmas sale. And this time it works! It's very much a 2D Dark Souls but with a lot of new and interesting features.

If you like Metroidvania or Souls-like games then I definitely recommend this game.

Fun things to do? Yes.
Nice graphics? Yes.
Does it run well? Eh, sometimes.
Is it the best Fallout game yet? Not by a long shot. If you want first-person Fallout, New Vegas is the superior game.

I got sucked in by the hype. I feel like I'm missing something because this game doesn't grab me at all.

Great game but so much of the actual "Ultimate Box" content is missing and not even available for some reason.

After finishing and loving Resident Evil Village I wanted more Resident Evil. I went back and played the RE VII DLC which is excellent. That game is so well done. My next choice was to give RE4 another go. My previous experience was not great:

As a longtime fan of the Resident Evil series as a whole and having owned and played Resident Evil 4 multiple times on various consoles, I cannot recommend this game at all. This is a very lazy port with barebones graphics options, subtitles that aren't available in English, shoddy controls and system-crashing bugs.

Do yourself a favour and play the Wii version for the ultimate Resident Evil 4 experience.


Unfortunately, my opinion hasn't changed, The game just doesn't hold up that well, almost entirely due to the horrible control scheme. I remember all the complaints about the tank controls of the original 5 games, but those games are still far more playable than this one.
The complaints about the limited graphics settings still apply. The game looks very old and crappy. I didn't suffer any bugs this time though.

It really is a shame as Resident Evil 4 is a fun game, but this version is not worth the hassle. I stick with my original advice, play the Wii version if you can. Sure, it doesn't look great, but the controls are so intuitive that it more than makes up for it.
