This is a game I remember seeing on the Store a couple months back and thinking "Huh, that looks neat. Maybe I'll check that out later." Wishlisted it and more or less forgot about it.
Recently, I saw some discussion online which made it seem like there was a lot to love about this game, and while visual novel style games aren't typically my thing I decided to finally give this a go when it went on sale for the Summer event.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
As someone who's always been interested in writing, and roleplay, and character-building, this game scratches an itch I don't think anything else I've played has quite been able to. Make no mistake, this is a CHOICES MATTER game, and your choices will influence the outcome in so many little ways that can lead to wildly different outcomes.
It's a beautiful story, whether you decide to go full Paragon or full Renegade- you'll find those options aren't so clear cut.
On my very first playthrough, which lasted 5 hours largely because I was streaming it on discord with friends to discuss the options, crack jokes, and experience the game together, I managed to get quite possibly one of the most beautiful character arcs I think I've ever read more or less on accident.
AND THEN THERE WAS MORE.
If you enjoy reading strong characters, if you enjoy a game where each choice can dramatically impact the outcome of the story, and if you enjoy a simpler art style which can magnify the horror tag with a gorgeous contrast, this is a game you'll probably love.
It also doesn't do the jumpscare thing, at least not in any of the runs I've gone through. So that's always a plus.

Compared to the Vortex Campaign of TWH 2, I don't love the mechanics and progression behind the base campaign in TWH 3. However, the core of the game is still very much intact and with some very interesting new mechanics within certain factions which make for a game that feels both very new when I want it to, as well as very familiar when that's what I want. The way that factions are balanced and how diplomacy tends to go means that there is always at least one faction which feels challenging to conquer, so it never gets too easy- even if the campaign can feel like it's dragging on after a few hundred turns

Black Friday Update: Since Immortal Empires dropped I have been playing a campaign pretty much every chance I get. I have finished just one. It was glorious.

Early Access Review
If you enjoyed Warband, at its very core this is a logical extension onto the basic gameplay ideals on display there. The new systems are a little harder to figure out than the original, but there's a beautiful coat of paint on classic M&B.
Where once we had giant scraps of paper indicating a scene, we now have shiny UI. Where once we had obscenely powerful long polearms, well, we still have those. Mounted movement feels significantly better than in Warband, and the AI is leaps and bounds ahead in that same realm. It is pretty rare to get a cluster of horsemen struggling to move against the walls of a tournament arena.
Don't be afraid to take the easier damage options- this game is sincerely pretty rough when you take the same amount of damage you can deal.
There are some glitches here and there-none gamebreaking that I have seen so far- but this game feels like a modernized expansion to the game we already love.

Remember Halo? Remember the days on the 'ol XBox 360? One of the premier online gaming experiences of all gaming? Well, it's only Reach for now, but it's still the same game. The multiplayer is all put together, too, so once all the games are released you can play one game in Halo: Reach slayer, and then another game in Halo 2 CTF.
It's good! I don't have strong nostalgia for Halo, but if all the games release like this, I would strongly recommend it.

If you enjoy MMO style grinding, and don't mind fighting the same types of enemy a few times, then those are easily the worst elements of this game and you might just be set.
If you do enjoy the varied gameplay of a typical beat 'em up, and the fashion/stats balance of other MMO's, and don't mind a bit of a mediocre story, this is definitely a great game for those.
If you like to try out all the different ways to play the game, there are lots of options here. If you enjoy choosing one playstyle as your 'main,' you can do that as well.
If you enjoyed previous Monster Hunter Games, well, I only played generations before this but I think it's better. While losing out on hunting styles means that there is no adept style, it feels like dodging is generally more forgiving than in Generations without adept style. It also feels like the rare monster drops(plates, gems) are more common(read: less frustrating).
I enjoy the hell out of this game, and eagerly await iceborne's release on PC just so I can play the game a lot more. Personally, I don't like the endgame gem grind, but if you're into absolutely maximizing your stats for a lot of time and effort, this will keep you occupied for quite some time.

So, Warframe, what a game.

There are few games I'd be willing to sink this kind of time into, but it always feels like there's something to work towards. Recently I've been burning out because, well ♥♥♥♥, I've been playing for at least an hour a day for the last year after about a year's break since another of the same story.

There's always something to work toward in this game, and it feels so nice to watch your collection slowly fill up with mastered weapons, warframes, and companions. It's only now, as I hit MR 26 and only have a select few weapons and archwing things to continue leveling up, I can feel myself starting to peeter out in interest once again.

I love the story quests, and I have no doubt they will keep me coming back for a long time to come. I love the almost casual slaughter you can wreak as your gear and mods become more potent and well-combined.

Warframe is an investment, one that requires time to truly get into the meat of things. Once you're there, though, it can be hard to put the game down.

For the sake of the steam event, I suppose I'll go ahead and put my love for this game into words.

I bought this game, like, a week ago. As of my writing this, I have 63 hours on record. So nearly a day and a half of my week, basically excluding work and unfortunate warframe update timing and sleep, has been spent with this game. I have already grasped it's basic mechanics and feel confident playing with a decent difficulty, and have forayed into the modding side of the game a bit.
There is seriously a lot here, and while it can get stale while you wait for something to happen between major events, it still always feels like there's something- some aspect of your settlement(s)- you need to be working on RIGHT NOW.
Because of this, it has an age-old 'just until i finish this task, oh wait i need to do this now' problem which feels so good.
I've been comparing this game to Don't Starve meets The Sims for my friends, and since none of us play Dwarf Fortress or similar games it seems to work.
I love this game right now, and I look forward to what gets added, or what the modding community comes up with. Hopefully both.

Alright, jeeze, been waiting on this a while. Technically got the game for free, but I gifted that copy and got the soundtrack edition because #bettervalue.
Anyway, ok where to start? I'm not much of an adventure game kinda guy, so I don't know how this stacks up against the rest of the genre, but as a fan of Homestuck I'm glad to see some expansion on less clear aspects of that universe. There were a couple implications which I believe were new, but i never looked close enough at the source material to tell.
The game itself is enjoyable. I found myself getting bored of clicking on literally everything, but I imagine that's just my impatience with the format.
There were a few typos that seemed to have made it into the final dialogue, only one managed to confuse me a little bit because I guess an entire word got cut and it was kind of key in that context. Otherwise just a couple letters off, but I got the point.
I only got stuck at one point, and that's probably just because I assumed a couple objects were connected but they had different dialogues associated with them. From my perspective, it was overall an enjoyable experience. It does look like this is going to be episodic, like a Telltale game. I finished Act 1 and I assume I have to wait for Act 2 to come out.
Followed homestuck for its last few years, so that's nothing new.
I can't say for sure how this would appeal to newcomers who never checked out any MSPA comics. Hard to know, but I think it would hold up for the uninitiated.
So, yeah, Fun game so far. Pretty basic stuff, and a good preview for what's to come. Also showcases that classic Homestuck humor very well, with a few good references aside from the obvious.

I enjoyed this game for a period when I was refusing to play League of Legends because I needed to take a break from that community, but I can't really revisit it because, as many have said, it's hard to find a match.
Love to play some more.
