I bought this game expecting something entirely different than what I got. I thought I'd get a cute fantasy stealth based action game with a few puzzles, but I got a dark fantasy puzzle game centered around stealth, hidden beneath a layer of cute mice and other small creatures, and a bunch of actually pretty creepy looking rats (but they're rats so...)

I absolutely loved this game regardless that it wasn't what I expected. Go in and enjoy the game, there's lots to discover.

Final note: I know a lot of people use Let's Plays and Streams to see if they'd like the game, and that's well and good, but as this game is mostly about the story and it has a sort of mystery, I'd recommend the best way to experience it is first-hand for the first time.

This game is very good.

I've seen a lot of people complain that it's a grind fest and that the "skill" is not how good you are at the game but what level you are. That's false. I've beaten the game multiple times. I'm on New Game + 3 (or so), and I created a new profile (you get 3 profiles so you can have 3 files or your siblings can have files) and I got through the first boss on the first life, and then pretty easily got through the rest of the bosses I had so much trouble with on the previous run throughs. I had the skill so many I've seen claim you cannot get at the game.

The ones who claim it's all on the level only believe that because you gain levels at a much faster rate than the skill to actually know what to expect.
By the time you've maxed out the manor, the only way to keep progressing through the New Game +'s added difficulty (which by the way increases every time you beat it) is through skill because you can level up no more.
