Well worth it

Let me preface this by saying that the original binding of Isaac was one of my favorite games, and that I've been eagerly anticipating Rebirth. I'm a little bit biased, to say the least.
Nevertheless, Rebirth has so far exceeded all of my expectations and then some. It's still got the items and gameplay that first pulled me in, and the new art style and soundtrack are fantastic as well. They improved upon many of the gripes that I had with the first one - no more paralysis while picking up pills, trinkets and items, far less bugs, and more. There is also more to do, with an expanded challenge list and new bossfights, items, and the ability to input seeds.
Oh, and don't worry - it still has the kick-you-in the balls difficulty, it's just that now you can adjust it for extra testicular torment.
This game was well worth the wait, and whether you're a fan of the original or have just found this series, it's a great pickup that will give you more than your money's worth.

Too much of my life has been wasted on this game. Still an amazing amount of fun after hundreds of hours.
