Boring. Just boring. Static maps, very little options to customize your park and it feels like a mobile clicker game. Not worth those 60€. Refunded.

20 hours into it - and i <3 this game. Its the first game in the last years which really defines the term "epic".

The story/plot is well written, the quest chains are surprising, funny, deep and satisfying. The game graphix is just beautiful (run it on fullHD ultra settings ~40-60fps). The game world - unbelievable detailed and worlds apart from the complexity of Skyrim. The forests are the best part in the whole game. This was made by pure dedication!

Gameplay wise its a challenging game - yes - no difficulty slider and i love it. Being born in the 70's, and growing up with the first pc titles in the 90's this is a refreshing approach to the good old times when games where difficult, without save options, autoheal and all this crap. In this game you have to be careful, plan ahead and exercise your favorite weapons category. And thats a good thing! Easy to learn but very hard to master - thats KCD!

There are so many new great and thoughtrough gameplay elements which add an unblievable depth to the game, you can really feel the harsh and dirty environment of the middle ages. Have dirty clothing and armor? See you charisma dropping - wear a nice and shiny armor - have people shout out to you! This is just amazing! Crafting, open world, horseback fighting, layered armor system .. and alot more.

And on top of all this - its also an history lesson. If you discover things ingame, the ingame wiki will be continously filled. Authenticity in every corner of the game world and lore.

This game is one of these gems you will remember in decades..

Absolutely recommendation - this is a MUST buy title!

What an awesome little game! Freelancer in 2D with the charme of classic 90th games. Absolutely love the art style and atmosphere. Just scratched the surface but i already know this will be a long ride...

I admit - i am biased towards Kei Entertainment. I <3 Don't Starve - and i also love this game!

The art-style, the presentation, level of detail (!) and gameplay reminds me on Don't Starve every second i play.
There is a quiet similar game on steam for 2 years now (Craft the world) and in general it reminds me on Dwarfen Fortress because of the passive style gameplay. You dont control your characters directly but by giving orders to manipulate the environment.

This game just launched into early access but its worth every cent. If you are only slightly interested in crafting and survival games - this upcoming gem is a MUST HAVE!

I have 400+ hours of gameplay in this game. Its a good game and i had high hopes for it. But the development was stagnating over month - selfmade problems, missed release date for pc (due to cross-development to consoles) and now the big letdown: A PAID DLC within the Early Access Phase.

I simply cant support or approve this step or behaviour - because if we accept this move, we will have hundreds of Early Access titles on Steam tomorrow which want to sell DLC in the development phase. An absolute NO GO!

On top of that - deserts were a promised core feature of the game since the beginning:

which is now behind a paywall.

So i HAVE TO GIVE that game a thumb down to not support this moral highly questionable decision.
And as a gamer - by not supporting this move - i define the standards of the gaming industry tomorrow.

Update: 7 Jahre später und NMS hat sich zu einem der besten Sandbox/Erkundungs SciFi Spiele entwickelt. Endlos viele kostenlose Updates mit hunderten neuer Mechaniken und Inhalten haben aus dem ehemaligen Rohrkrepierer eines der besten Weltraumspiele überhaupt gemacht. Außerdem kann man es problemlos auf allen gängigen VR Systemen spielen, was eine unglaubliche Immersion bietet!

Hunderte von Stunden später kann ich sagen dies ist eines meiner absoluten Lieblingsspiele geworden!

Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Original von 2016: Ich kann NMS leider nicht empfehlen. Der Ansatz ist gut, aber es gibt zu viele technische und inhaltliche Mängel dass ich es unter Strich nicht empfehlen kann, von der ganzen Feature-Streichung/DLC Diskussion ganz zu schweigen.

Pro:
- unverbrauchtes Szenario
- tolle screenshottaugliche Athmosphäre
- fliesender Übergang All-Boden
- Sprachkomponente um Inhalte zu entschlüsseln
- Schöne Lore
- Rätsel und knifflige Easter Eggs

Contra:
- zu viele Bugs
- fehlende Features wie:
- Scannerupgrades (die Scanneranzeige ist ein Witz)
- detaillierte Infos
- Wegmarken
- Unterwassererkundung (mit Schiff)
- Wechsel von Technik von Schiff zu Schiff / Multitool
- man merkt die Konsolenportierung an jeder Ecke:
- miserable Technik
- bekloppte Menüsteuerung
- keine manuellen Zahleneingaben möglich (Handel)
- Inventarsteuerung ist ein Witz
- die hoch gelobte Vielfalt der Planeten ist nach 5-10 Stück dahin:
- Rohstoffe sind IMMER gleich verteilt (Blumen, Oxide, Sulfide)
- Die Variation entspringt nur neuen Farbgebungen/Titeln
- Tiere teils absurd zusammengewürfelt und doch ähneln sie sich
- massenhaft Bugs (HUD, Scanner, fehlplazierte Gebäude)
- zig Abstürze ohne Fehlermeldung

Alles in allem ist nach knapp 36h die Luft raus und die Intention weiterzumachen geht gegen Null - nicht weil ich keine Survival/Crafting/Sandbox spiele mag - im Gegenteil! Sondern weil man in NMS einfach nichts bleibendes hinterlassen kann. Crafting ja - aber das ist nur Zeitfresser für Upgrade des Schiffes / Ausrüstung. Handel ist obsolet und auf Farmen/Grind hab ich einfach keinen Bock, auch wenn Planet XYZ dann nicht mehr rot sondern gelb ist.

Das Flair des Entdeckens geht flöten wegen mangelnder Vielfalt und erzwungenem Grind. Eigentlich sollte das eine Stärke des Spiels sein.

Matchmaking is crap. You are thrown into matches with high ranked players. 10 losses in a row are normal. If you masochist, this game is for you. Exept the sci-fi scene it has no real value compared to HS. Waste of time and some game mechanics are even counterproductive for a ccg.
