Edit: Only 4 dollars now, definitely recommend buying!

Do not buy this for full price lmfao, it's an absolutely wonderful experience and great to just vibe with but it's worth a few bucks at most, the 15 minutes of playtime are great though

This game initially looked fun, but there are so many issues with it. The combat can be fun at times, but some of the bosses are set up in a way that forces you to take unavoidable damage. This ends up forcing a painful grind, having to spend a whole run grinding for gold just to get a single upgrade. Repeat ad nauseam, and you have the main gameplay past the first few hours. The generally high-pitched music slowly scraping itself into your brain definitely doesn't help the experience.

tl;dr: Game good, reviews bad, play it

I will never understand how so many people seem to dislike this game. Several of the common complaints I see are things that I would consider positives.
-Simplistic art style:
Self explanatory, the simple art style adds to the atmosphere imo but you already know what you're getting based on the store page.
-Short:
For me at least, the small length of the game allows for much more familiarity and skill, especially considering the game's brutal difficulty and multiple endings. It also makes the game much more ideal for speedrunning.
-Game hard:
That's the point. You're trying to slowly improve your personal skills each time instead of having any permanent progression.
-Buggy:
I honestly can't comment on this one, as in my over 10 hours of play I've never encountered any bugs.

One issue I could potentially see is how heavily the game relies on RNG. You'll have to become incredibly familiar with all of the items in the game to have a good chance at success, so if you aren't a fan of that idea then the game might not be for you.

The only other real issue I can think of is that the game's achievements are absurdly difficult. The majority are ones that you'll earn naturally by playing, but the last few require insane amounts of time and luck. The worst of these, Put The Devs to Shame, requires you to effectively get a speedrun time (under 8:30 with the WR sitting within a minute of that time).

Overall I would completely recommend this, as it's one of my favorite games.

Amazing game. Great humor and dialogue, fun and fast-paced gameplay, and stellar music. I can't wait to see what else the devs do with this.

The Zero series is probably my favorite game series (or subseries) of all time. The sense of speed and just overall badas$ery is unparalleled. On top of the amazing gameplay, the series also has a surprisingly good story, especially compared to most other Mega Man games. The inclusion of the ZX games in the collection is just icing on the cake.

Zero 1: Yes, it has screen crunch. Yes, instant death can be incredibly frustrating (looking at you, Protect the Factory). But I still just love this game. Once you get past the grinding, the rest of the game is a lot of fun. This is the game in the collection I've played the most, except maybe Zero 3.

Zero 2: Honestly just a really good game. Great gameplay, great story, great level design (for the most part). It There's some segments with frustrating design, but overall this is just a big improvement over Zero 1, aside from less replayability.

Zero 3: This is probably my favorite game of all time. The bosses and level design are incredibly fun. This game also perfects the Cyber Elf system, letting you feed and switch between them at will. Another great feature in this game is the Recoil Rod. Bouncing off of enemies and forcing them away is incredibly satisfying, and adds to the sense of speed that is the core of this series. And the story is phenomenal, with multiple twists and turns and emotions throughout. I can't recommend this game enough.

Zero 4: I've only played this game once. For comparison, I've played every other game in this collection other than ZX Advent at least twice. I honestly just hate this game. The graphics are appealing as ever and the core gameplay is still there, but it just doesn't feel like a Zero game. The level design is frustrating more often than not, and on multiple occasions I felt like I just wasn't enjoying myself while playing the game. The story isn't much better. The focus shifts away from Zero, Ciel, and the Resistance and towards these new OCs, who bring their own backgrounds and relationships with them. The only thing I enjoy about the game is the final boss and the ending itself, but it's sad it's tacked onto such an otherwise disappointing experience.

ZX: This game has a lot of good ideas. The different transformations are fun to use and experiment with, and the bosses and levels are fun. Where this game starts to become a drag is the time between levels. The grinding from the Zero games is gone, but at the price of having to walk to each level. You're practically required to look up a map online because the game gives you so little direction. Even with a map available, the time it takes to travel to each level kills the pace of the game. Other than the time-wasting, the rest of the game is a lot of fun. The best thing about it other than the freedom of movement provided by Model H is the secret boss fight, which is probably my favorite fight in any game.

ZX Advent: I've only played this game once, and I honestly don't remember all that much. The gameplay is still fun, and the drag of walking between levels is mostly fixed with an actually reasonable fast-travel system. The level design is a bit worse than ZX, but I feel like I enjoyed the experience for what it was. Overall, just okay.

If you were to skip any games, I would recommend playing the first three and skipping the rest. I would rank the games:
Zero 3
Zero 2
Zero 1
ZX
Zero 4
ZX Advent

Overall, I would say it's worth the buy.

I got this game for free during an event, and it sat in my library for months. I was bored recently and decided to try it, and I was completely blown away. The music, atmosphere, and story are all phenomenal. I found myself completely immersed the whole way through. Aside from that, the gameplay itself is excellent. I've been wanting a good first-person parkour game, but haven't found anything that quite conveys the feeling I was looking for. This game excels at that. Swinging around with your grappling hook feels incredible, and using it in conjunction with the other mechanics can be challenging, which makes it all the better. One of the best aspects of the game is that it would still be amazing without the story. The fact that the story is so immersive just makes it that much better. On top of all that, it has replay value thanks to collectables hidden in each level. The game is short, only lasting about a few hours, but I think that its length suits the simple story that's being told. Overall I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants an immersive experience, breathtaking gameplay and visuals, or just a fun diversion.
