First of all Jester awards are very appreciated thx for the steam points <3

THE GAME IS OKAY BUT BUY IT ONLY IF IT'S ON SALE OR GET IT ON GAME PASS!

The game is very obviously rushed and the amount of positive reviews are worrying, If this is the standard that the players are gonna be satisfied with from now on then my favorite game series is at stake unfortunately, anyways here are my notes:

1. The combat doesn't feel smooth at all, it feels off you can't even grab enemies you can't even lock on enemies while fighting properly it feels like it has no flow, even the new spider gadget they added doesn't feel smooth during fights.
2. Colosseum fights feel really boring, because the combat feels rushed so obviously the Colosseum won't feel as good, and the bosses in Colosseum fights are literal damage sponges, you just keep spamming the same buttons and hope your Clan is strong enough to take them down along.
3. Playing as Saejima, Majima, and Daigo in the Colosseum is nothing short of underwhelming, Saejima's combat felt better in a 11 year old game (Yakuza 5).
4. Oh god the cabaret live-action minigame, it's so cringe I couldn't hold myself from cringing so many times, Yakuza 6 did it better, Yakuza Kiwami 2 also did it a lot better.

NOT AN ISSUE, BUT JUST A PERSONAL PREFERENCE: The music in the fights is too low in volume compared to literally every other Yakuza game I hope they'll fix it in an update soon.

Lastly the story could've been longer, but that's not really an issue, since we've already been told it won't be a long story mode before the release. However that's a good reason to wait for a sale or get it on game pass.

A big step up from Judgment 2018 in terms of combat, side cases, and main story. def recommended.

SPOILER-FREE RANT
Reminder: This is just my honest opinion on a video game.
This will be controversial. (Obviously)
The main story had a lot of filler like 30% of the dialogues/story could just be turned into side cases/missions and it will literally make no difference.
The writers try so hard to make the story mysterious, yet the plot twists are so predictable if you just take a moment and think a little bit you'll literally predict so much accurately it's funny. (Poor writing) I've witnessed so many better villains in other games by RGG other than the ones in Judgment. (There's too much black and white in the writing of who's good and who's bad as a person in this game. It's like the characters are either absolute angels, or absolute satans)
The bonding between the characters was poorly delivered and I didn't feel the bond between the characters unlike a lot of other games from RGG. (Most of The Yakuza Franchise)
The combat is the second worst in the Yakuza Franchise after Yakuza 3 (I know this isn't a Yakuza game) but it's in the same universe and has the same combat mechanics. EX actions aren't enough, you always need EX boost and button mashing in boss fights.
The tailing missions are absolutely boring.
Investigation mode can be frustrating a lot of times.
(I did not finish the side cases yet) but so far they're fun. Except for the tailing.
Kamurocho feels more alive than ever which I liked, and Dragon Engine is fun.
Overall I'm disappointed.
& thanks for the steam points lol
