Best gaming community currently. The Devs actually listen to player feedback, as seen with the Decontaminator Pack DLC, and the game has a lot of replayablity. Rock and Stone!

Probably one of the best soundtracks to focus with: I've been jamming out to these while tuning pianos. My only question is when we will get the Cross of Vidar music as well?

EDIT: Well Cyanide pulled through and changed quite a lot where the game is playable and fun. Better yet, they even changed how the cosmetics work, so now basically every item (minus Legendaries) that is unlocked will be available in unlimited quantities. This was all done extremely quickly, and even though Cyanide never really owned up to their mistakes, they are taking measures to try and make their playerbase happy and that is always a good start.

So I'm happy that Cyanide actually listened to their playerbase, it's sad it took them getting a 67% Negative Review on what should've been a good product but if they would've done at least one more Beta test they probably would've been able to fix this issue before the game came out. Now I'm going to leave my original review, with some minor edits, so that other people can possibly see what some of the main issues where with BB3 when it first dropped and how different it is now.

Original Review: (Not recommended)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Me and my buddy pre-ordered this game since we really like Blood Bowl 2. We were told there would be amazing customization options that haven't been present in past games to help your players stand out, UI improvements, and just overall improvements.

We both got the Brutal Edition, since it offered 48 hour early access to the game and "unique" customization options. Well when the time came we were excited to try it out, until we found out some issues with Cyanide Studios' communication:

1: Early access was full of bugs, so the 2 days we got to play had to be patched regularly. And even then, some overall issues like an impossibly long loading screen (even on SSD harddrives), matches finally starting up but then instantly ending as a "Conceded", when we never got to play.

2: Customization is a actually locked behind microtransactions. And that "unique" Brutal Edition customization I mentioned? Actually a set that is already in the game that we get for "free". But why is this a big deal? You don't just buy the customization item and get to keep it afterwards, you only get a ONE USE ITEM that can be equipped to ONE CHARACTER (EDIT: apparently the item will go back into your inventory after the player who equipped it dies/retires). So not only did they blatantly lie about the customization, but they took it a step further to make it so if you don't want every player to look the same then you have to shill out even more real world money to make ONE PLAYER a bit different. On top of that, mutations (a big fun-factor for players) are no longer visible in-game because it directly affects the microtransaction cosmetics they have set up.

3. The "Roadmap" that was provided is a joke. They are holding off on providing basic services such as "Rejoining a game you disconnected from" until further updates. Since the majority of the player-base want to do PvP matches and not PvAI, this is a huge problem and a major letdown when you see how polished their microtransaction shop is.

4. Cyanide continues to act like their game is complete, when everyone who played the beta testing knows that the only difference between the last test (about June 2022?) and now is the fact they spent most of the time working on their microtransaction shop. Sure, the UI looks a little more polished but Blood Bowl 2's UI is better overall.

So as you can tell, I despise the microtransaction shop the most. This game is already set up to have a ton of DLC lined up, as with any Warhammer-related title, but they are acting greedy with Day 1 DLC and a fully fleshed out shop to take more of your money that offers very little in return. In conclusion, I recommend you avoid this game until they get their priorities more consumer-friendly instead of their current cash-grab BS. If they do change, I will gladly change my review.

Didn't know what to expect, but I heard a lot of great things about this game. I wasn't disappointed! The initial learning curve is pretty steep, but once you change your brain from Call of Duty "Run in and shoot everything!" to "Think up a plan and execute it", then the game becomes a lot of fun. Meeting enemy players is a huge thrill since dying in this game actually has consequences. Now I wish I would've joined in sooner.

This game was bought on a whim, on the 2020 Lunar Sale that Steam had. I had a friend recommend playing it when it first came out but I didn't and now I regret it because this game is so addicting. I don't know how much replay potential is has while it is in Early Access, especially if one unlocks all of the characters, but I am interested in seeing how well this game turns out when completed. Right now I'm having a lot of fun just gathering equipment to see how overpowered certain item stacks can be (armor piercing bullets x4 + crowbar x3 + ukelele + various health leech items + A TON OF DRONE ALLIES made for a very fun run)

It's not an extensive game compared to TW: Warhammer (1 & 2) but it is very good addition to those who love Viking Age things. The names and units reflect the time period very well, but the lack of DLC is disappointing. A fun game to have for the Viking elements, nonetheless.
