the only bad thing about this game is that theres no more free for all mode

when i got into this game, i thought it would be a frankenstein's monster combination of CDDA and prison architect

10/10 i stripped one of my prisoners nude and replaced both his legs with peg legs after giving him serious food poisoning because my chef had level 2 cooking and liked cooking outdoors.
i then released him. he made it about 5 meters before suddenly stopping to vomit due to food poisoning and promptly fell over dead because it was cold

all the real humans left after pewdiepie, vanoss, markiplier and the like started making videos about this game and caused hordes of dumb, screamy, angry, spoiled children and autistic man children to swarm the game like flies to a bug zapper

now like 6-7 years after i wrote this review i can say even after garry's mod has dipped majorly in popularity since 2014/2015, much of this is still the same, even down to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ manchild/child fanbase that does nothing but play crap pay-to-win darkrp/darkrp reskins all day, leaving the other more interesting game modes mostly in the dust. I would add more stuff to complain about here but youve probably seen it all before anyway.

if you like using big rocks covered in glass shards to smash the skulls of naked bath salts addicts in, then this a game for you!

10/10 more people have the major cannibalism achievment than the bad father achievment

lets just say that this game was much better when it first came out like 2-3 years ago

100 hours later and i can still describe this game as "stupid circumstance" since around 90-80% of the time you'll be dying to bad circumstances, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or to something you didn't think you would have to or just couldn't account for rather than dying to your own errors or poor choices. Not to mention there are dinosaurs specifically designed around being annoying (diplodocus and troodon for example).

The game is frustratingly addictive though, and once it has its claws in you its hard to get them out.

but dont bother with official servers, pve is a dead wasteland of pillars and pvp is a nightmare. even on beginners servers that have the levels capped to 44 and no transferring allowed you'll still run into chinese hackers going around aimbotting people with bows on speed hacked rafts. and on non beginners servers they are dominated by mega tribes constantly flying around on wyverns or on shadowsmanes on maps like the island that are absolutely not balanced for them.

(almost forgot to mention a shocking amount of items have insane crafting costs for mediocre or no uses. 80 black pearls for a camera? pointless barely working mirror costing 70 obsidian and 100 silica pearls on scorched earth? 260 ingots and 100 obsidian for the lance, literally the second most irrelevant item in the game next to the radio, which only beats it out because it doesn't even function due to a patch? get real)

fun but with the new graphics they added awhile ago it melts my pencil sharpener pc
