It is a game of epic proportions and unmatched quality. Truly one of the best games I have ever played. A work of art. Well worth the full price.

If you like this genre, after learning the basics this game is a blast. The learning curve is notoriously steep, but in my opinion the game is worth that initial effort.

Unlike titles such as Europa Universalis, in Crusader Kings 2 you don't play a state. You impersonate one specific character in medieval Europe. The feudal contract implies that you need to keep your vassals happy at all times, lest they plot to overthrow you. Sometimes you can reach your goals through wars, other times through intrigue or diplomacy.

You will likely find yourself murdering children and having sex with your cousin. You might think you're a monster, but then you also get murdered as a child and cheated on by your wife. Enjoy.

Buy at your peril. This game has potential, but it's definitely far from being releasable.

It is incredibly grindy for no good reason, and has some nonsensical mechanics. For example trees are not renewable (they don't drop enough seeds). Farmed carrots can't be planted as carrots but must be planted as "seed carrots" first. It takes 24 kg of copper + 8 kg of tin to make 12 kg of bronze. The missing 20 kg of mass are presumably converted into kinetic energy as a result of nuclear fusion, but this doesn't cause an explosion of apocalyptic proportions as it should. Also you need 240 kg of pure iron to craft an iron sword. Who doesn't wield 240 kg swords after all? Vikings can clearly lift much more than that.

Despite its outdated graphics, the game is not optimised and has serious performance issues. I've been playing with a friend whose game speed often dropped to 6 FPS. He was forced to stop playing because the game was literally unplayable. Sad.

Perhaps this game will become playable in a few years and who knows, perhaps it will be fun! But for now I deeply regret buying it and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Excellent game. Very polished with lots of attention to detail. It really shines with the addition of mods, some of which I deem to be essential. There is plenty of room for creativity.
You will spend most of your time managing traffic and planning for it.
In any case this is definitely a good game and well worth the price.

The concept behind this game is fun, but its execution is really poor. Frequent FPS drops, often down to 11 FPS, happen even on excellent hardware. In some situations with such low FPS the game is literally unplayable. The graphics is simplistic and some textures are just bad, so it's not like you get nice views in return for low performance.

When performance is decent, the game is mostly enjoyable for the first few hours. Exploration, crafting and expanding your base feel rewarding. Zombies are dangerous, especially in large POIs. However you quickly reach a point where the quests and POIs get repetitive, and any zombie encounter does not really pose any challenge. If you have a good base, the only real challenge left is surviving the blood moon, an event which occurs every 7 in-game days where a large horde of zombies hunts you. In that case the challenge mostly consists in being able to aim at zombies despite the cripplingly low FPS.

I have very low confidence that this game will ever come out of alpha & beta state. It has been in development for years and it still feels like an unfinished game. Save yourself the trouble and some cash, and don't buy this game.

It's the best Monster Hunter I've ever played so far. Addictive, fun, and challenging... I would highly recommend it. There may be a bit of a learning curve if you're new to the series, but it will definitely be worth the effort.
