Although I had to tweak the video graphics down, this game was surprisingly playable on my computer that has only an AMD A8-5500 APU with 8GB RAM and AMD 7400M video on Windows 7 Pro SP1. It got pretty choppy if there was a lot of action, like when you've got 4+ stars of notoriety and things are swarming you.

I had no problems getting the game installing and running, but every now and then, it would seemingly minimize unexpectedly. That may have been due to other programs I had running, though I'm not sure -- when it happened, the other programs were not showing a pop-up window or any other alerts. By the way, at some point during installation, I had to edit the SR2_PC.EXE file's compatibility settings to disable desktop composition on Windows 7.

The game itself crashed a few times, generally during missions -- so when it happened (which was rarely), it was annoying to restart the mission because in doing so, you may have lost whatever vehicle and followers you had before the crash.

I could never get a USB controller to work, and steering vehicles with keyboard/mouse takes getting used to -- it's very twitchy, depending on the vehicle. During a heated chase, it was bothersome to accidentally drive off of a bridge and automatically fail the mission, or waste time being stuck on a tree or a cement barrier.

The music is fun, with a variety to choose from -- yet if you play a lot, you'll start to hear the same songs. I eventually adjusted the configuration to turn-off the car radios by default, whenever entering a vehicle.

Some of the missions had me confused on what to do or where to go, so I had to pause / minimize the game, then look-up tips on various wiki pages and forums.

Finally, the graphics do indeed look dated as of 2013 (after all, Saints Row 4 is out), especially the cut scenes. Still, it's a fun, silly game to play. Be wary that there is a lot of violence and cruelty in the game, so it's not for kids.
