Update 5/11/24:
After a few weeks of updates, the game is feeling less fun. A string of nerfs has taken the parts of the game that felt fun and made them unenjoyable. This combined with updates that have made enemies feel more overwhelming in all scenarios have taken this from being a relatively care-free cooperative shooter and turned it into a high stress, high focus, no mistakes allowed objective grinder that I'm less inclined to participate in. All of this along with the drama from Sony, continued lack of global availability, and general feeling of negativity in matchmade games with other players has made this game more difficult to enjoy. You may still be able to get something out of it, but my patience is mostly spent.

Developers went back and actually added Steam Deck support in their anti-cheat. Real homies. AND THE GAME IS FUN?!

The Finals is fun, you should play it.

I may try to update this later, but for now I'm struggling to get into this game because of how distractingly bad it looks on Steam Deck. The rendering completely falls apart no matter the graphics setting. There's so much ghosting around objects in motion that it's difficult to tell whether you're looking at an enemy or an environment. Because of this I can't really engage with the story or the world or the combat. Framerate isn't an issue, at least.

Game is good. Anyone who enjoyed Skyrim or Fallout would likely enjoy this as well. It is first a Bethesda RPG and a space game second. It's Nasa-punk fallout.

Not sure how Nvidia expects ray tracing to catch on when they make tech demos that run at less than 1 FPS.

Teardown is a legitimately good game that is also very pretty. The artistry here is very impressive.
