This game was sold to my son via YouTubers obsessing over how great it is. In reality this game was designed to sell merch and other high margin goods to children and its clear very little was spent on the actual game.

My son isn't super coordinated for playing games with KB&M so he'd much prefer a controller. However, this game does not support controllers though there are enough keys mapped to convince him it does. No way he can get very far in the game without the keys not mapped to the controller so he gets very frustrated and I have to come in and sprint+jump etc to get him past where he is stuck.

IDK why they would market a game so heavily to children but then make it so difficult for them to play. At least FNAF games kids can ♥♥♥♥ around without having no clue what to do, especially the earlier ones. This franchise also tries to piggyback on the background story heavy fan fiction FNAF has snowballed into but none of that makes much sense. Feels like the priorities were around getting a movie or tv show deal instead of making a game people enjoy.

If you are of the age this game is being marked to you will not enjoy it. If you are old enough to read this you will enjoy it even less than the kids who want to play it thanks to YouTube. I don't believe it took many people to make either of the two expansions. It looks like they even ported it to console but never mapped the keys in the PC version to a controller. This is not a hard task these days but this game isn't here for people to enjoy. It's here to sell merch to kids like FNAF does, merch is king when it comes to making cash.

Edit - for the record my son is plenty old enough to play this game, he just doesn't like using KB&M. He's played most of the FNAF games no problem as they are on Xbox/PS5 and he's a big fan of the horror jump scare genre. I'm sure he'll pick up KB&M just fine.
