A wonderful game for anyone with a passing interest in JRPGs, and the first entry in an expansive series.
The characters are loveable, the story, while slow, lays the groundwork for successive games, the world is a joy to explore, and the music is a faithful recreation of the original.
I do have some reservations about the new localization, (more than likely due to the excellence of the original script), but the pros outweigh the cons. This is an easy recommendation.

I'm posting a review to hopefully even the odds a bit.
As of the current update, the game is functional.

If you're not playing this over McDonalds WiFi, you're doing something wrong.

You can B-Tatsu, therefore the game is excellent.

Enrich yourself in an excellent story, complex gameplay, and participate in waifu wars, all while vibing to a criminally catchy soundtrack.

Anime boys joyriding and eating Cup Noodles, while monster hunting.

10/10.

Worth full price.

Worth it for the TF2 knife.

If you are a fan of the metroidvania-type games, then you are sure to enjoy this.
