I have been a fan of these games since I saw the first version of "EZ2DJ" at one of my local arcades in my teenage years. Nearly 30 years on, I still enjoy these games to this day, especially with the diverse range of music and the range of difficulty levels (There's a VERY select few that I can complete on "SHD" difficulty, but I can do a decent number of tracks at normal or HD difficulty). If you are a fan of pretty much any type of music game, but especially games like DJMax, Beatmania, Groovecoaster, etc, definitely give this one a try.

First off, let me start by saying I've REALLY been enjoying the game so far. The overarching storyline has definitely been interesting and figuring out the various paths you can take requires a bit of thinking outside the box At least until the game starts blocking off options you have chosen previously

That being said... I don't really feel the 'horror' vibe that has been touted about this game. Maybe it is because I've read so much lovecraftian stuff in the past (Much <3 for Call of Cthulhu), maybe it is because I, like others I know, tend to associate 'horror' these days with what has also been dubbed 'torture porn' and the more slow burn stuff as a 'thriller' - I dunno. StP seems to have more of a 'slow burn' vibe to me - not that it is in any way a bad thing... as mentioned at the start, I've been really enjoying the game so far (I played the demo and was looking forward to seeing what they did with it.)

First 'circuit' I got The Damsel, The Prisoner, The Tower, The Witch and The Stranger. I'll be interested to see if different combinations yield different results at the end. The voice acting is top notch and the music fits the mood perfectly.

If I had to change anything - I'd actually get rid of the 'save' option. StP feels a lot to me like a 'choose your own adventure' setup and given that there isn't really a 'bad ending' as such, it feels like there isn't really any reason to have it - the whole point is to 'walk the path' - being able to rewind your meta feels a little against the sprit of the game... also I have a bit of a twitch in my mouse hand and occasionally accidentally click the right mouse button, bringing up the save screen and cutting the voice acting short.

Worth picking up when it is on special, but with the problems with multiplayer, best to make sure some of your friends also have it. That being said, still a fun game, requires fast reflexes to win against the computer in single player.
