payday 3 didnt deliver but this did

edit

while i initial liked the game aside from the recent changes for a psn account, the game is incredible boring after 100 hours, i speak as someone who loves coop games and even the most mundane repetitive stuff but i feel like iv done everything with no reason to keep playing and the way content is somewhat "time gated " doesnt help, if bungie really did have a hand in this game then id point my finger at that because thats all destiny is now is time gated content, but the difference is destiny has multiple different types of content keeping things from getting stale as quick as they do here, this game at launch felt very unfinished with stuff only being unlocked up to level 20 after that there was nothing else, sure now theyve added more stuff now but why did we have to wait more then a month for a few more things to unlock, i will say being able to earn premium currency in game is a nice welcome change from alot of 70$ AAA games who feel more like free to play games, im indifferent on the game being not solo friendly, on the one hand you should absolutely have a full team at any given time as it makes things go faster and is more fun, but at the same time are you telling me they couldnt develop a system that scales based on the number of players? i know harder difficulties should be impossible but difficulties 1-5 should be possible if you competent

a almost perfect example of how to remake a classic somewhat faithfully thats only held back by

mostly bad/bland recasting for characters

upscaled psp prerendered cutscenes

still a very good game just a shame they didnt put in the extra effort to get the old voice actors and then redo the psp cinematics

a very disappointing sequel, this feels more like a expansion that you'd find in something like Destiny, short campaign with some small improvements, one or two cool new features, and overpriced, what you have here thats new is shotguns and some other weapons, the ability to change your character on the fly, and a 4 hour campaign sold at a 40$ premium

i get its a more modular game in comparison to BONEWORKS and other VR games, but i don't think that justified the price, especially since you still have to manually input the mod repository's in a txt file (which the game does not tell you about that i had to learn from the modding discord ) to download mods in game, when its setup it is genuinely nice and cool that you can just download mods in game, however the game will save all mods to your C:\Users\(yourusernamehere)AppData\LocalLow\Stress Level Zero\BONELAB\Mods folder, i have the game installed on a separate drive and i figured well the mods would be saved there but just keep in mind if you have a small drive for your OS to be mindful of how big some mods are

the graphics were increased while also being decreased, they added some new effects and better lighting but also toned down a lot of the assets from BONEWORKS, personally i think it looks fine but BONEWORKS did have better quality assets, the optimization on my mind was fine (RTX 2060 SUPER/RYZEN 7 3700x @ 90 FPS with auto resolution on the QUEST 2) , they added more graphics settings which is great to see as i thought the first game couldve had a few more

the pacing of what is there is horrible and should be restructured to include you getting the bodylog (the new body change feature ) within the first 2 hours of the game and then drop you off in the hub, its very clear a lot was either cut or was made short on purpose to keep it small and compact for the file size for the quest 2 (games only around 10 gb ), the AI feels extremely unpolished they either are not working and staring at nothing even when your right next to them or already pre firing your position behind a wall without ever seeing you

this should've been a update or DLC for BONEWORKS, i think SLZ is capable of getting BONEWORKS to work on a quest 2, albeit scaled down, they could've made this as content that comes with a quest 2 version of BONEWORKS and then just made it a 20$ DLC for owners of the original game, because to be honest, a lot of these new items and features would be fun as hell to mess around with in the original game, if SLZ do add more content like they've done in the past, whether it be more modes or story content then i may come back a change this to positive but remind everyone that when this came out it was no where near worth the price and i dont think its very good of them to rely on the community to sustain this game with content to justify a 40$ pricetag (it is a crossbuy title for the oculus store i just bought it on steam because i had wallet funds ) , buy at your own risk of enjoyment and fun factor
