very fun and there are lots of improvements over the first game. things like the enemy cannibals dodging your attacks or cowering in fear if you taunt them with a skull, it really makes the game feel more realistic and dynamic. the custom building is also great, being able to add doors and windows at any height to existing walls is nice, as is addition of electricity with electric fences. my first playthrough was 100 hours. i probably could have finished much faster, but i was having so much fun just building my house, exploring, and fighting the cannibals. almost forgot to mention the friendly characters. having them around and needing to protect them really helps make the game feel more real. also just being able to tell kelvin to do things, so i dont have to grind and cut all the trees myself or run around looking at the floor for dropped arrows.

the goal of the game is similar to the first game in that you have to go into the caves to get special items and progress the story. the caves are MUCH better here than in the original. no more getting lost and having to circle back for hours in a single cave. i was able to find the items i needed without having to go back to a cave at all, and i didnt get lost much either. overall it felt much less frustrating than before, while still feeling rewarding and like i was really exploring a cave system.

overall a really fun game, i definitely recommend, especially if you were a fan of the original. looking forward to a sequel if they make one.
