Jackfrags isn’t click baiting. Game is actually pretty damn good. Gunplay feels really smooth, performance has been nearly flawless, quick matchmaking, nice TTK, fairly balanced maps, decent weapon variety. Didn’t play the game until very recently so it probably deserved the criticism it got. EA screws everything up. However, in its current state, the game is very enjoyable. This is the only game in my entire history of steam gaming that had mostly negative reviews and wasn’t complete hot dog water when I tried it. Follow the most recent reviews. Honestly, don’t take anyone’s word for it. No telling how many people are just review bombing the game just out of spite. As of right now it’s on sale for 20 bucks. If you can’t justify that, then sign up for EA play and try it out. It’s 5 dollars. That’s what I did just in case and I do not regret it. Some of the most fun I’ve had in a BF game since BF3/4. Ignore the negative reviews and try it for yourself if you haven’t. If you have it and haven’t touched it since launch, then give it another shot. I’ve been in gamer depression and haven’t really wanted to play anything because I’m bored of all my games rn. It brought me back. EA can suck my peen, but dice is still cool in my book.

I want to start out by saying this game IMO deserves a 9/10. I highly encourage you to pick this game up, upon reading this review! It's a great game, and I loved every second of it!

There really aren't many negative things to say, but I do have a one or two. Let's start with the PROS.

PROS

*Stealth- You can play this game with out much confrontation. Sneak around, sparing the lives of your enemies. (The more blood you shed, the darker the game's outcomes will be in multiple ways.) Their are many ways to silently, and humanely dispose of your foes, with out shedding too much bodily fluid, but at the same time, you can slit their throats, and leave them choking on their own blood, or send crossbolts into their flesh, unknowingly. Maybe if you're feeling the urge to see your enemies scatter in fear, you can rewire, and turn their own defenses against them, witnessing the cool breeze taking their warm, dry ashes with it. Don't feel like a coward if you need to run away. It is a very huge part of the stealth gameplay. The best part, is that you can not only run, but jump, climb, slide your way into the shadows or roof tops, leaving your pursuers to fumble around in the gnarly, Brined Hagfish scented crop dust you left for them to choke on. Their are many ways to "neutralize your enemies, but I'll let you discover that with your prefered play style.

*Close Combat (When you don't care who hears and sees)- You can always go head on and Destroy your enemies, leaving them in their own puddles of blood and ash. Upgrade your sword, and pistol, to mold them into the killing machines they are meant to be. Nothing like striking down your foe, and thrusting cold, sharp steel in between his shoulder blades. Explosive bolts? Yeah, I'm sure you can imagine how many head will be rolling when you get your hands on those babies.

*Engaging Story- I really enjoyed the story, even though it didn't take me long to complete it. There are many ways to play through it, with loads of choices, allowing you to play the story your way. The game has unique characters, and rewarding side mission's that will have you treking in the direction you so chose to go.

*Runes, and Bone Charms- These are basically items that power up your character, and abilities. They give you the ability to make the Corvo that you want.

*Bethesda- (Nuff said)

CONS (or things I would've liked better)

*Non-Lethal Melee Attacks- The game definitely has it's ways of dealing with enemies once they spot you. (IE.. Sleep darts, Running away, Killing.. ect.) However, I would've liked to be able to bash an enemy with my sword, rendering him unconsious, rather then gutting him like an animal. I just wish that there were some alterative ways to silencing an agro enemy, without killing them, or wasting precious sleep darts. (and they are precious!) There are just those times, when running away may not be an option, and if you don't want to compromise your belief that all life is precious, then that means re-loading a last save. The only alternative, is to be more sneaky, and plan out your takedowns. I'd say it's a way of making the game more challenging, but I think combat was that already, especially when surrounded by multiple enemies, shooting, and stabbing you.

Like I said, not many cons. That's the only one that I had, and it wasn't really a con. More of a reference, really. Anyways, pick up the game and try it out, before #2 comes out! It's going to be awesome, and I hope it lives up to all the hype! Well, Happy slashing!

Sincerely, Deathtoll. (:
