One of the most polished mods I've ever played, excellently captured the tone and style of Portal 2 while also offering a completely new mechanic that is every bit as thought-provoking as the original portal gun.

One of my absolute favorite games, nothing else really comes close to the sense of wonder and astonishment I get from Outer Wilds. Exploring a clockwork solar system in the vein of "Majora's Mask in space" is immediately interesting, but Outer Wilds excels by using its premise to the fullest. Every planet is brimming with mystery, and every mystery has a satisfying secret to reveal.

Despite the miniature stature of its setting, Outer Wilds even manages to handle daunting questions about the universe with grace. I've never had a game (or really any media for that matter) fill me with existential dread and hope at the same time. Just as I've never explored worlds that are simultaneously so alien and yet so homey.

It's a testament to the design and creativity behind this game that all these disparate mechanics and themes combine together into one package. Playing Outer Wilds for the first time is a very special experience, one I'll forever wish I could have again.

Just when you think you understand the twists this game places on reality, it throws something new at you. And every new mind-bending turn is amazing to explore.
