Punishingly difficult, but fun. Rallying is a very visceral sport and this game succeeds at conveying that.

Prepare to go into the trees more times than you can count but the joy of nailing a section or a stage is incredible.

Sound design is top-notch and graphics are good as well. This is where Codemasters uses their expertise in creating casual simcades like the F1 games and the regular DiRT series comes into place where eye and ear candy take precedence over physical accuracy. And it is where a lot of the simulators falter. This game also has great creature comforts like automatically detecting my (very common) Logitech G29 and I can go through all the menus using the wheel (unlike for example Assetto Corsa which still expects you to use your KB/M).

Multiple ways you can enjoy this game, either play solo against bots, play the daily/weekly/monthly challenges or join a club where you race championships together.

This review was written at 67 hours and I am still very much a loses-car-into-trees-and-limps-the-rest-of-the-stage-on-three-wheels kind of guy but I still come back to it.

Great story with amazing delivery.

This game is very story-centric but still manages to deliver enough gameplay to make you still feel in control.
