Allo stato attuale trovo molto difficile trovare piacere nel giocare ad Hyper Light Breaker.

Essere in Early Access non giustifica la mancanza di bilanciamento in fattori cruciali di gameplay.
Il fatto che altri giocatori, fra cui amici con il quale mi sono consultato personalmente, ne abbiano evidenziato la pesantezza mi fa capire che non sia un problema personale.

Trovo veramente frustrante il fatto che il pattern di scatto-attacco di molti nemici abbia un hitbox più lungo di quello che mostra l'animazione, sopratutto quando un colpo ti fa perdere una buona parte della salute difficilmente recuperabile.
Non capisco il senso della presenza di una meccanica di parry (fra l'altro unidirezionale e con una finestra di azione molto limitata, sia a livello di tempistica che di dimensione) quando si viene attaccati da più nemici contemporaneamente.
I mezzi per viaggiare sono pressoché inutili: perché mettere un hoverboard (con poca responsività ai comandi) se ha una velocità poco più veloce di quella di corsa ? Perché mettere un glider se la velocità di caduta è poco più veloce senza ? In aggiunta il doppio salto con scatto verso l'alto non permette di scavalcare molti ostacoli, spesso costringendo a circumnavigare l'obiettivo nella speranza di trovare un muro abbastanza basso.
Per quanto uno possa provare a scattare, se i nemici sono troppi, si verrà colpiti sicuramente e ancora peggio, ai nemici è possibile buttare a terra il giocatore e colpirlo mentre è a terra, cosa a dir poco odiosa.
La schermata di morte è interminabile e mentre aspetto di respawnare sento la sensazione di lasciare la run e andare a fare altro.

Trovo interessante l'idea di avere tentativi limitati per cercare di finire la run prima di avere un reset della mappa e il sistema di power up tramite moduli che hanno anche essi "vite limitate" come il giocatore lo trovo originale e accattivante per spingere verso l'idea di provare nuovi approcci alle build.
I movimenti delle armi meelee sono lenti in confronto alla velocità dei nemici, ma i moveset sono gradevoli, come una danza. Le armi ranged invece sono spettacolari, peccato che fra caricamento e munizioni molto limitate non si possano utilizzare più costantemente.
Esteticamente è stupendo e sia colonne sonore che sound design sono veramente piacevoli da ascoltare.

Purtroppo ciò non basta a rendere il gioco gradevole e per il momento non mi sento di consigliarlo.
Spero vivamente che ci siano cambiamenti importanti alla struttura del gameplay perché al momento l'oppressività dei nemici porta al limite dell'ingiocabilità.

I think I might speak for a the vast majority of players when I say that nobody expected this game to be this good and fun: it was considered a meme and it is actually an enjoyable experience !

You might see this game as a Pokémon rip-off but here the slaves are the little creatures and not the fans of the franchise.

That said, some kind of people shouldn't be allowed to play this game, such as a friend of mine that enjoys a little too much enslaving people and either sell them to the black market or skin them alive to obtain materials.

UPDATE 2: The previous bug was fixed and they added some pretty rad content !

UPDATE: I am sorry but i have to switch my review to negative since i signaled an error in mid october (that is still occuring) about the crashes that occurs in the route to Saturn that not only blows up your entire run but there is no way to continue the run from where you crashed.

I will leave the positive aspects below but I won't change my judgement until this obnoxhious error gets fixed.

I never heard about this game and after 20 minutes into the demo i went straight back to the shopping cart to buy this bad boi.

I love every single aspect of this game:
-The desing of the different areas to the enemy variety and they peculiar way of shooting is intriguing.
-Choosing my own path with a ladder-like scheme is a core feature in my opinion, and you almost have a complete freedom of choice.
-Health pickups spawning frequently and with various effects allows the player to embrace a more aggressive playstyle that allows to play a bullethell and BE the bullethell.
-And the cherry on top: the "back to the sender" gameplay. That's what sold this game to me instantly, finally a roguelike with a new and fun mechanic.

Since it is in early access I have new content to be excited for, with such a good premise I have really high hopes.
Truly an hidden gem that I will appreciate forever just like Voidigo <3

Thanks a lot for making such a genuinely entertaining game !

A thrilling and challenging card-came with an fitting athomosphere given by its unique art-style and haunting soundtracks.

Every run is different but the main thought is always the same: "Will I survive this dark pit filled with atrocious monstosities ?".

This little gem got easily on the top of the "podium of my favourite card games" next to Slay The Spire.

In conclusion, this thumb-up goes to the game AND its developers, willing people who keeps this game awesome by balancing broken cards (ex.: Light Concotion pre-nerf) and fixing minor bugs: this is how you earn respect from your community. Well done !

Cute destroyer of your inner peace, must buy even without the discount, be sure to have a controller and a friend to play the co-op.
