I probably have over 1000 hours on this if you count the mobile version too. Just a fun simple game thats easy on the eyes.

So, I overall really enjoy this game as an F1 and sports sim manager fan and it's definitely a step up from last years. But it has some issues that I could probably overlook, if it wasn't for that $55 dollar price point.

The cars seem to much on rails for a game with a AAA price. Even though I have to admit the game is gorgeous, and the new helmet came is pretty cool.

I really wish the drivers had more personality and independence. One really exciting thing about F1 is when the drivers ignore team orders, and sometimes they get it right, like Carlos Sainz ignored his pitwall to get his first ever win in Silverstone last year. This game they are robots just waiting for your commands.

Another wish list item, would be for this game to have multiplayer, because they could make up for the sometimes weak AI.

So overall, I do like this game(I would guess I am the target audience), but its just impossible for me to recommend it this price, when you get a feature rich Football Manager for 5 bucks more. Only get it on a steam sale.

I only play this solitarily(I'd imagine multiplayer games are nuts), but I find it really relaxing and enjoyable. Games last about 20-30 minutes. I've been wanting a game that was about trading, and this is the best one I know of.

So I went into this, thinking it was going to be Civilization meets Crusader Kings, and feel like it's more ancient era Civilization with leaders that have to worry about their legacies and courts with random events and choices. I get this might come across as pedantic, but it should be stated that Crusader Kings gameplay is a lot more sandboxy in comparison.

Every move you make in Old World matters, thanks to the new orders system. It feels even more like a board game compared to Civilization. Which I love! When you are at war with other nations, you have to spend more turns on mobilizing your military units, rather than moving workers around. Also, as leaders get older, they get more orders, which thematically speaking makes your leaders are getting even a better grip on running the government. When a young heir takes over, the number of orders will drop to reflect the loss in efficiency. I get the impression that part of this order system was to help speed up the end game, but I have to admit the end game can still move slowly, but it's not at the same level as trying to manage over 100 units in the modern era of Civilization. (I'll admit that I have not played the latest version of Civ because I was never able to finish a game in Civ 5, so maybe that has improved).

Lastly, I love the choice of playing in the ancient world. An era that I love and find fascinating. While I have not managed it yet, I can't wait to crush Rome with Carthage.

The only thing that stinks about this game, is having to wait for the next episode! It's really great to finally see Pandora from a normal person's POV. Can't wait for the second episode!

Thought I would give an update on my review, as Shogun is now available on the Mac.

This is easily my favorite Total War, and I installed Windows on my mac, so I could play it and a few other games that arn't on Mac. The Mac port is pretty good, but not perfect. For some reason the 'Fall of the Samurai' campaign is missing on the Mac port. And also, there is noticeble drop in framerate when the battles start to rage. I just switched to Windows now, to just make sure my memory wasnt bad, and it runs perfect on there(Highest Settings, no drop in framerate)(keep in mind, I am using the same hardware). I don't want to say its unplayable though, I think I spent about 4 hours on it on the OSX version, and its still a blast. Because lets be honest, when you are commanding your troops, you arn't really zooming to watch all the details, you are watching the banners, and blobs, and bottle necks in the terrain, etc. I would still recommend it on OSX. Feral Interactive (the dudes that ported it to Mac) may have optimized it for newer machines perhaps?

This is a 3 year old MacBook Pro, and Shogun 2 runs great on the windows side, but a little sluggish on OSX. Still has my highest recommendation though if you don't own it. 10/10.

Did you like Mass Effect for all the cut scenes and decisions you get to make that impact the story?
Did you like LA Noire because you got to solve mysteries?
Did you like fairy tales growing up because they were dark?

Well let me tell you, 'The Wolf Among Us' is right up your alley. You get to play public ♥♥♥♥ Bigby Wolf.... and without giving to much away(A week ago, I assumed this was a story about a werewolf, and the less you know the better I think)... it is awesome.

Please get this.
