I love the game, every single episode.

The game is fun and all but you'd expect the developers to have learned from the connectivity issues of four years ago. I can't even get past the authentication screen due to overloaded servers.

Bad captains, not many servers, just boring overall. I used to think it was fun but now I don't know what has happened. Like I prefered the old holes when the ship gets broken, now they are just round and ugly. It's hard to know 100% why the game is bad right now, it just feels bad.

I actually find this game pretty boring. It has realism for sure and support my mother language (translated by players) but I just can't find any imagination in this game. And it's also pretty hard to understand and complicated, like the controls and what to do. After 4 years it's still far from finished.

So many missions... and so little time...

I have put a lot of hours into this game recently. This game blows my mind, there are plenty of stuff to do and explore and there are more to come, and another reason why I got so many hours is because I don't want to leave this game. An alpha game hasn't made me this excited for a long time.

It has some bugs of course

Missing surface
Sometimes some grass might be missing, there is a hole of nothing, and you will fall if you step on it but you will spawn on the surface immediately without any health loss. Objects however like the bike will keep spawning above the bug and keep falling like in the portal game, however you can pick it up if you got space left in your hotbar. It might be harder though with a hv since you can't pick it up so try to avoid the bug.

Floating on surface
Not a major problem. Sometimes it happens you're floating above the surface when you're on the bike but you can still drive normally. If you drive further you will on the surface again. I don't know if it only happens with the bike.

Iron grass
Ever heard of iron grass? Me neither until it happened to me yesterday. I was digging in the grass around the MS Titan front on Akua and did the usual stuff, looting and destroying the blocks to get resources. I left it for a while and when I came back there was like an overlay with grass around the ship. And it was impossible to dig through it, it said I had the wrong drill mode so I tried with the multitool and it didn't work either. To fix it I just had to reload the save again. The overlay was still there but I could dig through it.

Automatic (!) doors not closing
One of the most annoying bugs in this game. You place an automatic door and at first it works normally, but after using it for a while it stops closing itself. You have to close it manually and it still opens automatically but not closing. So you have to place it again to make it work.

Loading screen crash
It happens almost all the time when I load a saved game the first time after I start the game. The game crashes and when I start it again the same saved game I tried to load is working again.

There are probably even more bugs and other problems like trees and objects have 2D looking pictures on a far distance, nightmares and all creatures can still reach you even if you are pretty far above them, and more. But hey, it's alpha and I really enjoy this game.

I haven't played this game that much yet. But I kinda like it. Even though the graphic, the sound quality, map and content overall isn't that impressive, it still feels different compared to the other survival games. No zombies, instead it has objectives, factions, and more. It even has single player! And to those who are complaining, remember this game is in early access and it's just 1 month and 12 days old. Do you expect the game to be top notch as soon it gets released? No game will ever be perfect. Art requires time! I sure am excited for the development of this game. And also the cheap price is a big plus.

Update February 11th 2018: 5 months have past since I bought this game and I must say not much has changed. "Network problem" with single player (!), the aiming is kinda annoying (can't switch angle and fpp is better), and it becomes pretty boring after a while. But it's still a new game, only 6 months old, so let's see how good it is when it's 1 years old.

Too many russians and freezing lobbies.

Other than that it's a pretty good game. 🙂

So frustrating! I can't play on ANY server because a few seconds after I join a server everything freeze. People run in one place and if someone shoot right before it freezes the sound will not stop, it will just go on and on. Everyone just keep running to the same direction they were running to before everything froze. They even keep running when they hit walls or trees. I'm not stuck though. I can walk around while everyone else are frozen but I can't reload or interact or anything. A time out error. When I try to reconnect via the console, it takes me back to the menu with the message: "Steam decided that you are not authorized to connect to this server".

I sent a mail about this problem and on twitter to the developers and they sent the same answer on both apps, a link with listed problems. On Twitter they said: "This is most likely security software of a router blocking or killing the games connections." And that's the problem. No anti-virus app nor firewall is blocking the game, it is allowed. When I removed it from firewall, I couldn't find it! Then I saw a recommendation which said I should remove the game files completely and update the game from Steam. Which I did, and you know what? Now I have to wait 2 more hours for the game to finish! Then they say I somehow should bypass my router. How tf do I do that? I know nothing about computer, I just wanna play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game! I don't even think my router has anything to do with it! And my friend said reinstall the game. Wait even longer, great...

Always so complicated and so much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when you just want to play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. A recommendation to developers; fully test the game before you release it. And my recommendation to people who are planning to buy this game is to not buy it unless you are sure that you can play it!

Now one and a half year has passed since I wrote this review. One and a half year since I pre-ordered the game and got disappointed of the connection problems. But now, when I tried the game again on the free weekend, I was impressed. I played for the first time 3 games in a row, without disconnection. And I actually enjoyed it. Though it was a server in New York so I had above 100 ping but still. Hopefully there won't be any problems when playing on servers in Europe.

I regret buying this game. That's all I have to say.
