By far the best indie game of the year. This game knows exactly what it wants to be and excels in every category. The combat is insanely satisfying. The graphics and animations are top tier. The music is good enough to stand-out between the chaos of the gameplay. The roguelike elements make each run feel different (on top of having 4 characters that play wildly different from each other). Lots of different paths so you're not just fighting the same enemies/bosses each time. It's just fun to play - truly an exceptional game.

A fairly competent metroidvania with a really awesome atmosphere. It feels really lonely and reminds me of Super Metroid in that way. There really is a sense of wandering around as well, which I feel like modern metroidvania's miss. I would recommend it if you're a fan of the genre and are itching for a new one to play.

cute enough game but some...less than stellar people in the credits. wish i checked before i purchased.

Hades was a 10/10 game. Hades II is an 11/10 game. Idk how the hell they managed to top the first one, but they did. SGG are legendary devs.

Very fun rhythm game that really f***s with your head on the higher difficulties. Even as someone who has been playing rhythm games for about 20 years, this game presents its "notes" in really unique ways with the different enemy types and stage hazards. It's definitely difficult, but the charts are very fair once you wrap your head around the games systems. The music itself is also quite good, although all the songs I've played so far fall into that "electronic rock music" genre. Thankfully, the game allows custom charts so as the community grows, the library should grow quite diverse.

Check it out if you're into rhythm games.

Before you think this is just a Balatro clone, this game was in development before Balatro, so it's merely a coincidence. LocalThunk (dev for Balatro) has also given this game his seal of approval, which should speak volumes to the quality of this game. There are things in this game that were likely added after Balatro's release (for the better), but it is more than just a clone. It is way more like a regular roguelike with varying "paths" you can take and more opportunities for decision-making than Balatro. Only have done a few runs so far, but it's very addicting and I can tell there's a lot of depth to the mechanics. Definitely pick it up if you enjoy deckbuilding roguelikes.

Not really what I look for in a Metroidvania. Very cool artstyle and sound design, but I found myself quite bored when walking around. I was still early on, but a lot of puzzles were very obvious the moment you enter a room and it was just a matter of execution, which was rather minimal in my short time played. I'm sure the puzzles and exploration get more robust and complex as the game goes on, but I found myself booting the game back up this morning and immediately turning it off.

If you are into more relaxed puzzle-y kind of games, then this is 100% for you. But I prefer more action-oriented games and if that is the kind of game you also enjoy, then you can skip this one. Still like seeing indie devs making unique games.

Great new ARPG to add into the ecosystem. I'll never see myself going back to D4 and now swapping between this game and PoE. The game does have server issues right now, but there is an offline mode if you'd like to play, just be aware that you can't convert it to an online character or interact with the games leaderboards.

Easily the most well-polished game in this genre. Once this game gets more content, I could see it being the best in the genre as well. Super fun.
