Crow Country nails the PS1 survival horror aesthetic, while streamlining the typical experience for a short and concise trip through a well-designed world. This game trims most of the fat that usually comes with the genre. Inventory management is nonexistent and ammo is abundant. Monster designs are god-tier, but there is not much of a challenge in dispatching them. The map can tell you where secrets and unsolved puzzles are, so there are never moments where you need to spend hours backtracking or examining every pixel like in some survival horror games.

SFB Games have crafted a short and tight experience that looks like a crisp '90s survival horror sans CRT filter, with modern and smooth gun-play between relatively simple puzzles. The story kept me wanting to read all the lore items and exhaust character dialogue, and Mara's quips make her a very likable protagonist. Easily recommended to survival horror and/or PS1 fans.

All my homies hate the Tower of Anxiety

this game stinks

Half of my playtime was spent grinding for ears.

This is the kind of game the RE2 and 3 remakes should have been.

It took me about 4 hours to finish my first playthrough and there are 18 endings, so if you only plan on playing through the story once it might not be worth full price. The photography segments are fun and there are a lot of accessories to collect and customize Sonico with. This is a cute and funny game that any fan of Super Sonico will enjoy.
