Pros: It's Yu-Gi-Oh!

Cons: It's Yu-Gi-Oh!

It is what it is.

Early Access Review
World of Horror is a really great game to play in order to challenge yourself and watch the hours of your day waste away. The mysteries have really interesting lore and the visuals are horrifically enjoyable. I feel like I should always take the game slow and read every text box, but once you play through the mysteries a couple times and know what they say, I just want to breeze through them. This is really unfortunate but is something unavoidable due to how the game is just structured. What keeps me coming back to it run after run is that it really challenges you and makes you make decisions and manage your resources to the extreme. I always feel like I could make better decisions each run. Even though rng is a really big factor on whether or not you win or lose the run, there is almost always a non-rng but not as worth option to choose. The decisions of taking these rng risks throughout the game is what makes it so fun and challenging. While the game still has some more fleshing out to do, it's still in early access and I cannot wait to see what the dev does in the future. It is already a spectacular game and I highly recommend checking it out.

Sundered is a very weird game, it is laid out and has certain aspects of a metroidvania, but does not really fully deliver on these aspects. The map is fairly big with backtracking and secrets and some choice like a classic metroidvania. However, the enemies are actually just rng spawned unlike most other metroidvanias, which is something I do not really find appealing. Also, the random chance of a swarm of tons of enemies is very frustrating sometimes when you are just exploring around the map and it really makes you feel like you have no choice. I know that this is what Thunder Lotus aims for, but I feel like the way it is implemented with the enemies just does not achieve that and it works a lot better with the bosses as endless zones, mostly coming across as frustrating. The lack of variation among the enemies is also a bland and comes across as lazy. I know that designing new enemies instead of reskins would take a lot of time and effort, but it really does not come across as that in-game. The combat is fairly simplistic when it comes down to it and even though the perks and upgrade tree try to promote other styles of combat, you can really only go a melee orientated build (except in very specific situations and bosses). The skill tree is a very nice addition to the game and it always makes it so there is a goal to work towards. However, the scaling of prices is very steep and towards the end of the game it just becomes a grindfest instead of a nice reward to look forward to. The art style and music of the game is really the star of the show when it comes to Sundered. Thunder Lotus Games has always put a priority on art and they really deliver in this game. The backgrounds and graphics of the environment really give it a great unique atmosphere in each area. However, each of them always come across as breathtaking and beautiful making your journeys across the map fairly zen. The music of Sundered also helps add to the lonely vast atmosphere to accompany the art. However, it does not fail to bring in intensity and peril to boss fights and horde encounters. Lastly, story and characters of Sundered are also really well built. The Shining Trapezohedron is a very enjoyable character and seeing the story of the Eschaton from his perspective as an eldritch god and getting snippets of the perspective of the Valkeryies from the skill tree is really cool as well. Overall, Sundered is a very niche game with a fantastic atmosphere and simple but grindy gameplay. DON'T buy this game expecting it to be a metroidvania like Hollow Knight, but don't let that deter you from taking a dive into this great game.

Botanicula is a nice cute short little game. It's so creative and interesting, and I love it. While it is basically a flash click and point adventure game, it still has its own unique charm that makes it so enjoyable to explore. The creatures are intriguing and the world is fascinating and beautiful. It gives off a lot of Pikmin vibes with you being small and running around in plants and stuff. However, it still has some flaws such as its replayability. After beating the game, besides getting 100%, there is no real incentive or reason to play it again. You probably experienced most of what it has to offer in the first run and the blind exploration aspect of that first run is what makes this game interesting. I personally think that $10 for this game is a bit high but if you're looking for an experience, this is a really good game.
