HUGE fan of Hell Divers 1 and overall enjoy Hell Divers 2.
that said, i feel like the game lost its chaotic energy in its transition to a 3rd person shooter, the days of drop pods and drop ships totally annihilating your stupid friends is well and truly gone, and while friendly fire is still lethal as all hell, gone are the days of a friggin' turret casually sweeping its own squad aside.
that said, the game is still quite fun and i had a fun few hours playing with some friends on a few missions.
The reason this is a negative review is the loathsome use of microtransactions, Skip GO and go straight to hell.
the warbonds thing for unlocking new guns is alright, doesnt blow me away or anything (the later levels do appear to be grindy) the PREMIUM warbonds are asking for a $10 entrance fee, and do contain extra fancy weapons and armor which is awfully lame i have to say
note: im aware you can get the premium currency ingame, but the rate it is gathered is dreadfully slow.

i really appreciate the vicious brawls that can break out, the rather intelligent and agile AI, and neat upgrades the game has.

the novelty of everything being physics based doesn't make up for the mundane game play. The gun play and melee combat is only passable by the standards of stuff like pavlov or H3VR, and sadly dragged down by the addition of a physics based body.
The idea of parkour and climbing with a full body is cool but is more annoying than fun to climb and traverse obstacles, especially when trying to lift your body up onto a platform where your arms will frequently get stuck under the platform itself or fail to grab onto a surface specifically placed to be grabbed, looking at those horrible yellow pipes.

If you're a fan of red solstice 1, this is a direct upgrade.
if you've never played red solstice 1, but enjoy brutally difficulty co-op experiences and team wipes, this game is for you.
