I told my therapist that this was my favorite game of all time and she told me "now I know why you're so depressed. you're in an abusive relationship and Blizzard is your abuser".

This game just tries its best to suck money out of your wallet and it's not even shy about it. The prices for things that were once FREE are absolutely egregious. Shameful.

I bought this on release and quit before getting to the fortress and said "alright ♥♥♥♥ this I am not good enough". Kept the game cause I love FromSoft.

A couple of years later I got around to Playing Dark Souls 3, then Elden Ring, then Dark Souls 1, and then I finally came back to Sekiro and wow. Dark Souls of course needs no explanation as they are universally beloved. This game, however, poses an entirely unique challenge (but similar) with its poise/deflect system. As someone who was dogsh*t at parrying in Dark Souls for a while, it was frustrating to get the hang of Sekiro.

Each time I played a DS game, I thought "Wow, this may just be the greatest game ever made. It can't get better than this." In my opinion, Sekiro is the absolute best experience that FromSoftware has to offer. Absolutely unreal.

If you're open to an alternative way to approach the game, my approach was to clear each area as best as I could and then followup with watching FightingCowboy's walkthroughs to ensure I didn't miss anything or mess up a quest. There are some great secrets in this game that are worth pursuing.

100/10

UPDATE: as of august 9, looks like the FFB issues at the beginning of a flying quali lap have been fixed. NO MORE BROKEN THUMBS YAY

Gonna try to touch on points that I haven't seen others mention, as everything has really been covered.

For $60 this game is a joke. I love playing it, but it's really just cause I like driving and I had already bought it. As others have said, it's a copy/paste of F1 2020 with no major updates. Graphics are a little better and handling has been tweaked to make curbs much more punishing. Debris registration is better when it comes to punctures and tire temps/wear seem a little better too.

Here are my major issues:
- ***SEE UPDATE AT TOP*** This game has come close to breaking my thumbs a couple of times. At the start of a flying lap for qualifying, the game will skip for about a half second before it lets you take over. If you're running a Fanatec DD1/DD2 with the torque key in, the game will jerk the wheel FULL FORCE to the right as it lets you take control. I don't know if this happens to other bases, but I wasn't expecting it and it nearly broke my thumbs. This does not happen during my first quali of the session, but it will happen in every single qualifying session afterwards. Sometimes it's so bad that even if you prep for it, the car will steer off the track and disqualify you immediately. Super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating.

- More FFB issues: FFB randomly cuts out mid turn and just doesn't come back. Sometimes it registers the opposite force that it should. Turning left? lol maybe it'll resist as if you're turning right instead

- Adjusting keybinds is a nightmare for your wheel, and it's even worse to calibrate your pedals. I like to calibrate my 100% braking point in game to about a 90% pedal press. When you go in to do this by selecting your pedals as their own peripheral, it will not let you save the settings because you are REQUIRED to bind certain controls even if they are not relevant. In this case, you're adjusting your pedals... it tells you that you need to bind your steering axis as well even though it's already bound to my wheel's settings. Super annoying.

- WHY IS THE MENU BRIGHT WHITE??? I'M NOT TRYING TO GET FLASHBANGED WHEN I LOG IN TO DRIVE

- Multiplayer loading screens are a super nightmare sometimes. You'll get into a game and everyone will be loaded in except one person.... who never connects. There's no system to time them out of the lobby after X amount of time and you do not have access to any menus so you're just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stuck unless you ALT+F4.

- Others have mentioned this but the AI is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ busted. Sometimes they drive like gods and have perfect downforce and whatnot, sometimes they make impossibly stupid mistakes, sometimes they full ram you from behind and sometimes they bug out completely and slow down in a line like they are following a safety car even when one is not deployed.

- Driver rating are pretty... off. If you're playing with realistic car performance on, it's impossible for Max to match Hamilton or Bottas despite often outclassing him in the current season. Just more blatant evidence they copy/pasted the performance from the last game. Aston Martin decisively 3rd fastest over McLaren/Ferrari in 2021? lol.

- Braking Point is just.... not engaging or realistic. I watched like 10m of a youtube playthrough and immediately realized it just wasn't worth the time. I'd rather do hotlaps all day. I mean it takes place in 2020 and starts with australia as if COVID never happened.

- This is a smaller one... but why does this not have VR man? Any other racing game has VR... even Codemasters' Dirt Rally series. PLEASE GIVE US VR

In the meantime I will continue to play it, I just really really hope it gets better soon.

Game is fun, challenging, and delivers a thrilling experience you can't quite get anywhere else. Even if you only play for an hour or two, you'll get $10 worth of fun out of it, no doubt. Buy it if you like games that test your might, but aren't too complex to make you feel entirely incapable.

Was drawn in by the Immortal controversy and was blown away by the sheer quality and fun in this game. Absolutely love it.
