My 2 cents on Duviri:

Quest was fun, unique, pretty awesome all around, love the new drifter customization (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ finaly) i didn't experience any real game breaking bugs during it besides being locked into operator form during one of the final fights, which didn't impede me from finishing the stage so it didn't matter that much. The gamemode does a good job of introducing a more methdical, ''classic-ish'' warframe gameplay, i'm also very fond of the roguelike elements, they really are what makes the whole gamemode.

However...

They have one major flaw with the random equipment... the fact that IF you get any equipment that you already own, it'll use YOUR loadout. Needless to say this makes it so if i get just one choice of, you know, fully primed endgame EQ, i'll just stick to using that, and ♥♥♥♥ everything else in my loadout.

You CAN choose to use the DEFAULT config the gamemode gives you, i'm not quite sure if that's just taking from the ''auto mod'' function or if it's actualy random, the latter would be better for newer players, but again... as a vet you'd have no reason to other than just doing it for fun, because i feel that's how the gamemode should be played and balanced around, but it's subjective because you have a choice.

That aside, it's fun, until the game inevitably bugframes your whole mission.

So comparing it to BL3, game runs a lot better, classes are more to my liking, and i quite enjoy the variety of spells replacing grenades.

Melee is a mixed bag for me because while it's great that they're now a whole new weapon type, hitting ♥♥♥♥ lacks a lot of impact.

Humor is just as fine, even with all the censorship, starts very dull, gets a lot better around the moment where Torgue shows up, it's still the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you're used to. So unless you're a giant man-child ironically obsessed with trying to be ''mature'' you'll enjoy it just fine.

On the censorship though, and this is probably what kills the vibe the most for me, is the lack of gore... or not the lack of /gore/ itself but more about the lack of explosiveness that BL3 had, where you could make a dude explode with overkill damage, or dismember them. I feel they should've at least added it on a toggle, enemies still explode through overkill but it seems to be a lot more rare than usual, and it doesn't feel as satisfying as it is in BL3.

Wait for the price to drop and/or get it on a decent sale.

Curiously enough i was looking for games with a really good warrior player character, this was honestly spot on.
Indie first person melee, now you don't see many actualy good games in that category, this one's it chief, i had an absolute blast, it's just a shame it was a bit short, though it's definitively replayable, good for stress relief.

I gotta say i really liked how they managed the souls mechanics using the [REDACTED] weapon, in souls games you'd usualy end up backtracking to spend your souls to avoid the risk of losing them, but the weapon is empowered by your experience bar so you don't usualy end up being discouraged from keeping on, since using the damn thing feels awesome.

It's rare to see game titles as influential as the original Half-Life get remakes that actualy makes them justice, this makes justice to Half-Life and /then/ some. I went in thinking it'd just be a visual overhaul, in reality you can expect that alongside improvements to many areas such as shortening tedious areas such as On a Rail or the long as heck airduct sequence you go through after reaching the surface, as well as adding more to areas that lacked to compensate. Each and every NPC feels a lot more alive, one example is you can actualy have all the npcs up to the broken elevator jump follow you, most of them have their own little interactions when you meet em, at the dead end they'll all remain safe in the area as you go onwards, which leaves a pretty good feeling that none of them died to that point. Gunfights can get absolutely epic, especialy with the epic sountrack.

Tbh the only negative i can think of is that if your cpu is a bit short on power, even if it could handle the rest of the game it might suffer going through Xen, because it's got So. Much. Detail.

I can certainly say it's a good game, although... i honestly felt the game was.. a bit overhyped?

It's good, but it didn't surprise me much, as far as survival horror goes, with normal difficulty being the highest i felt it was way too easy, way too generous with resources, and honestly, didn't really make me feel tense once, or creeped out really, grossed out maybe, as i do have a phobia for roaches.
But the bakers are more comic relief than anything else, especialy jack threatening you with his texan accent, and his wife that cannot get enough of calling you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥™
Enemy variety was also VERY scarce... like, you get a goopy monster, a licker-ish goopy monster, a fat goopy monster........ a bigger fat goopy monster? that's it, there's a couple new ones in Chris's DLC but like, aside from the small explody ones they're basicaly the same.
And speaking of That Dlc, i can understand the upgraded filter, i guess, but why in the Everloving Heck didn't chris come equipped with nightvision, or even a flashlight, like, okay, a flashlight wouldn't have sufficed because of (SPOILER), but it still would've made a bit more sense, he's a bloody special ops soldier, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you're telling me [REDACTED] can't afford a bloody flashlight? he's going straight into an abandoned mine, like, what.

Perhaps if the game was a bit less generous with ammo and medicine management it would've been a bit more enjoyable for me, perhaps they should've let you pick hard difficulty from the get-go, though that can be said about a lotta games, seriously, we're not babies.

Story wise it was alright, halfway through you change characters for a small while and it can get a bit tedious, especialy because you sorta end up absolutely defenseless midway through it so it becomes a bit of a drag, unless you enjoy stealthing around, i particularily don't enjoy defenseless stealth for extended periods of time, just a little bit of it is okay.
But it's a bit of a quick segment, and maybe you'll be a bit luckier to find your guns quicker than i did.

All of that put aside, it's an alright survival horror, the negatives i pointed out are not as bad as they sound. The game also reinstalled an atmosphere that revitalized the RE series, so as a fan i would deffinitively recommend giving it a shot.

I loved the first one, loved this one too, if i had to compare them both though i'd say this one wins in terms of story, though not as much with gameplay, though not by a big margin, both do a pretty good job.

This one is a bit more centered around the protagonist and /their/ own traumas, i enjoyed it, the first one had you entertained absolutely give this one a shot.

Story aside the gameplay this time is slightly open world-ish, you get a couple of areas where you can explore, scavenge for supplies and complete side objectives, there are some linear sections in between.

I honestly felt the game was a bit TOO generous this time with the resources given, if you wanna have a real bloody challenge i would recommend pretending the coffee machines don't exist, otherwise you'll have BARELY any reason to use healing outside of boss fights.

The machines enter a cooldown after being used but there's like two of them per area and they heal you fully with each use, so unless you're playing like an absolute pancake you'll be nigh unstoppable, ammo management is also very, very easy when you're out of the first area, you get a couple of new guns, you get some stealth perks (which, with it's own skill line this time around is a lot more polished and can get rather enjoyable, what with it having some different animations), and so you end up beating the game with too much ammo to spare, so yeah, at least ignore the coffee machines if you want a more fair difficulty, i finished the game with like what, 50+ herbs that you use to make medicine? for comparisson a medkit will cost you 5 herbs, a syringe 3.

This one can get a bit buggy at times when jumping over covers or falling down from a higher place, Sebastian just gets stuck in place, personaly i was never really softlocked, you can usualy get out of this situation by spamming melee to move forward and you'll be out in like 10 seconds tops maybe, but do exercise caution.

It's a shame the game didn't get any DLC, i hear it didn't sell too well when it came out, probably because of the black bars, dunno if they made them toggleable on release or if they still insisted on them, but they are off by default, you actualy have to unlock them, if there was ever a reason to use black bars on a bloody video game...
I'd enjoy if they could someday come back to this series to explain what went on with Joseph as we got barely an answer on that.

If you're coming back to this game with memories of horrid cinema black bars, settle down now, you can turn them off.

Loved my time with both titles to heart, if you've got a soft spot for RE4 you'll feel right at home (As a matter of fact the game is often not very subtle when showing their RE roots, i thought it was rather cute), especialy if you'd like a bit more horror over action.

I think the highest difficulty setting was Normal, so as opposed to most games from this era and forward that had Normal difficulty feel a lot more like easy difficulty- i can say you'll probably feel the challenge a lot of the times.
The game does a fair job at survival horror, i didn't once run out of options with my resources but i never really felt the game was being too generous, though i am rather conservative playing these. Some encounters can make you feel a bit tense, which is of course a plus given the type of game, though i think that'll depend from person to person.

Story wise, i feel it gets much better in the psequel, though this one is good enough to keep you entertained, it's just a little bit more about the shock factor, with it's psychological and body horror themes, like a slasher film, you know? although i gotta say the gore feels a bit off, it's a thing with games from this era, maybe it's the engine, blood just looks like jelly, it's too bright. Still very satisfying to pop a zombie's head to put them out of their misery.

As far as bugs the only thing that'll bother you is reading documents, the game is a bit messy with the mouse wheel, so if you cannot scroll to read a document you gotta open up the menu without touching your mouse and navigate to it from the archive, then scroll using Pg down and Pg up.

The only REAL negative i can think of is the two story DLCs.
Story expansion value put aside, they are an /absolute/ drag, the stealth mechanics are NOT good enough to make a whole campaign over them, the bad thing is, you're almost defenseless outside of /some/ encounters where you can get an axe to eliminate one or two patrols, in the main game at least you always have a backup plan if things go to ♥♥♥♥, and you could always stealth kill, but not here, you also don't get to upgrade yourself so you're rather vulnerable from start to finish.
Was there a difficulty setting in the DLCs? if so play both of them in Easy, just to enjoy the story, you get a pass.

The THIRD DLC though, the executioner one? that one's an absolutely fantastic one to wrap things up, it's an arcade-y campaign, quick, satisfying, no complaints with that one, it was great.

I don't usualy write reviews but this.. this is an exception, because if i can save you from wasting your time like i did it'll be worth the while.

Let's (slightly) ignore the broken steam client and the fact that it's a chinese farming game so it's a world of microtransactions beyond your wildest nightmares, th' game holds a true evil that challenges human imagination, leading me to believe that it's creation was nothing but the work of s a t a n on the dev's minds.

there's no saving you from them, mobs will relentlessly pummel at you while you desperately try to write it down. from what i researched they start to show up if you've cleared a dungeon too many times... let me remind you this IS a farming game.

Needless to say this basicaly means the game is truly unplayable, and your only way out of it is submiting a ticked to support and complain until they decide to whitelist you from their captcha system, from my experience this is not guaranteed, i sent a ticked and after some back and forth all they did was put the ticket on hold while the proper department, ''reviews'' the situation, needless to say they never answered back.

They do not give a ♥♥♥♥ unless you swipe that credit card bby, don't waste your time or your money, stay far away from this as possible, i know it hurts, the game looks good and the combat feels amazing but until the devteam purges this satanic influence out of their system it's just not worth it, you deserve better.
