Early Access Review
The remake is good so far for a work in progress, so I decided to purchase two copies of the game for my sons. There is a new feature to this remake, called "Admins", and another new feature, called server lag. We joined an EU server, since that was the one with people playing, and my son gets kicked for, "hits not registering" and the admin says "playername WTF", very classy admins, I don't remember that feature in the old game, I think it was group voting system. But yeah, let's kick a day-old player, on a server with less than 10 people playing on literally the only server with any people at all.
So, very immature, I would not recommend you buy this game for your kids, because power hungry "admins" will just ruin your game experience. I play another game where I join EU servers all the time, and play with 150 ping and never get kicked, because the admins are not tyrannical. Did the Admin maybe stop and think, if hits are not registered on an "Early Access Game", that maybe, it’s not the player, but the coding that could be improved? Shocking to think, I know. Hits have not registered for me playing as well, but I am not kicking people for it (not that I could) and using expletives in game chat.

Early Access Review
Just had the best time playing this game with my 6 year old son. We spent like two hours playing this, and I got really far away exploring for resources. We died together, laughed together, and have a pretty nice base started up, and the game is only pre-alpha, so lots more fun to come!

Jagex releases games and never fixes them, and leaves them broke forever and then steals your money and leaves to make another game to steal more of your money, leave it broken and rinses and repeats. Nobody likes a real life looser who never accomplishes anything and stays the course for the long run. Jagex is that real life game developer looser. Run away from anything Jagex.

The Hurt + Heal Pack has definitely changes the dynamics of the Ace of Spades game, and breathed a breath of fresh game air back into a game I have played day in and day out for quite some time now. I think the player that most benefited from this content pack is the Commando, with the new mid-ranged burst fire assault rifle, and the parachute he has in my opinion become the real “Specialist” of the game. The rocket launcher still packs the fast action packed jumping and exploding instant-death you have become use too with the Commando, but with the assault rifle the Commando has become a mini-sniper, mowing down opponents from afar, and up close has never been easier with the short, accurate, medium damage bursts released by this weapon.

The specialist is faster than the sniper, has a grenade launcher type weapon, sticky grenades or an acid type AoE bomb, but just does not seem to do it for me, I much prefer the Commando over the specialist. He has a pump-action fast multi-burst shotgun as well, but so far I just don’t find him very enjoyable.

The medic has this shield that protects him from considerable small arms fire, but he is still able to become a crispy critter from the Commando’s rocket launcher or the Miners shotgun. The medic himself can choose between the same shotgun or a mini-machinegun that is pretty accurate from a medium range distance and does pretty nasty damage. He of course can drop these heal packs to heal other players, but in my opinion the game maps are too small, and the gameplay too fast for anyone to really benefit from these packs, and I think this character needs to be rethought of a little bit as far as being a viable medic to other players.

The engineer has a new mine launcher that is pretty cool, but I come across some mines that were launched and would not blow up, some type of bug I guess. The new item that disguises the engineer as a block is worthless, it is worthless because it does not blend well into the existing environment as an existing construct, instead it looks unfathomable fake, and there should be no reason ever to choose to use it instead of the rocket booster.

Of the new weapons and items available, I think the class that has lost out the most is the miner, they received a new weapon called the “Blocksucker”. And well, how do I put it, the Blocksucker, sucks, quite literally, and metaphorically. It sucks blocks within 3 or 4 blocks away or so at a painfully slow rate. It literally makes no sense to use it, I rather use the shovel or the drill. It does not stand out with it owns usefulness , it just stands alone, in a corner, weeping shamefully.

While I am thankful for the new DLC content, it is obvious the developers did extremely limited or any at all testing of this patch. The kick system is now broke, once someone initiates the vote, it stays up till you vote, then never kicks someone, and will come back with the same kick vote endlessly, even long after that person has stopped playing on the server.

I have experienced other bugs like not being able to cycle through my weapons, or the cycle wheel completely disappearing altogether. The server now almost religiously always crashes when changing levels and we cannot vote for which map we want to play anymore either, since it must be part of the same voting mechanism that is broke.

Zombie mode seems to have a new bug as well, or shall I say the Zombie virus miraculously cures itself, and the good citizens become impervious from the zombie claws – in other words Zombie mode gets bugged out, and the Zombie cannot infect any humans when the Zombie kills the humans, rendering the Zombie server broke, and everyone leaves. Also, Zombies need some type of boost, the commandos just fly around and rocket boost themselves and its equally as annoying as Miner's who mastered the art of zombie carnage.


Update 1/11/2016 So the kick vote is still broke, Commando's and Snipers are still the dominent class, barely anyone plays the specialist anymore, and Hurt and Heal pack seems to Hurt more then Heal.

This game is not very fun, it feels like you are in a gravity map, the AK47 recoils all over the place and I couldnt not shoot something far away with a supposed rifle. The movement does not feel right, this game is in very early stages. I would go play Ace of Spades anyday before this game.
