It sucks that I'm giving this game a negative review considering the very core of the game (the story, the graphics, the cinematics and the gameplay - especially the gunplay) are very good, and it's a good sequel to the STALKER franchise, but the game is extremely buggy right now. The game suffers the exact same issue that Cyberpunk 2077 had during its launch.

I've been playing this game since before the first patch and my experience have been rough. Game breaking bugs (hard-locks) will start occurring during/after your missions at the Wild Island (at this point of the game you are likely already past 2 hours of the Steam refund time), and the bugs get progressively worse after that especially the missions during/after SIRCAA.

I've endured some of the hard-lock bugs by reloading an old save game just to get past but I'm at the point in Malachite where even by reloading an old save doesn't work anymore.

- I will however give them credit for fixing the A-Life (enemies used to spawn close and directly behind the player), and the game economy (everything was extremely expensive before the first patch)

Not just the bugs but the game also suffer from CTD crashes. In my 70 hours of playtime I've experienced atleast 15+ crashes mostly from the missions at the Duga and during an emission at Rostok. The game will also crash sometimes when you are sucked in a Vortex anomaly.

Most of these positive reviews have only played atleast or below 10 hours, but don't be fooled. I suggest that you wait for atleast 6 months or a year before buying/playing the game (the game has the potential once they fix these bugs/crashes).

Edit: You can bypass these bugs using UETools (console mod), I did manage to get out of the hardlock, but I shouldn't be using mods to progress the game. The main campaign progression is still broken.

Releasing DLCs not part of Premium Edition is extremely greedy. They have even set 1 DLC (Horizon Racing Car Pack) to unlisted because it got bombarded with negative reviews. The first one didn't work so guess what they're doing it again with even more car DLCs (ala car microtransactions).

If you're thinking of buying the Premium Edition, don't, not until they package the new car DLCs into another Car Pass and include it in the Premium Edition or whatever edition they are going to call it.

Update (a year later): It's about 10+ DLCs now (they seem to release 1 car DLC every month). I still stand with what I said, if you're planning to buy the Ultimate Edition, you're not getting 10+ DLCs. It is not a full package.

This DLC is nice, but it also has that annoying bug that needs to be fixed. I'm surprised no one has posted a review about this bug yet (just to be clear this is not just happening to me, I've also seen it happen on youtube builds aswell). I've already posted a bug report about this issue.

https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/road-bug-in-cities-skylines-skyscrapers-dlc.1588603/

Just to let everyone know half of the skyscrapers in this DLC has a bug where if you place/upgrade the road beside the skyscraper the road raises itself for no reason (the workaround is you will have to replop the whole structure so you can fix the road - honestly I think it is an annoying, unnecessary process).

This needs attention because they haven't fixed this bug yet 6+ months later.

I do not hate the DLC, I really love it, when they fix this bug I will flip this review to positive, for the meantime this needs attention.

Update (a year later): They never fixed it, they've clearly focused their entire development team towards CS2.

The assets included in this pack should've been the industrial assets included in the base game, because the base game industrial assets are really ugly and they're really difficult to fit in the middle of the city.

With this pack along with the mod that can disable industrial fog and polluted ground you can finally put your industrial anywhere in your city.

If you're buying this DLC as a single piece I don't recommend it. The DLC should have not been titled "Railroads of Japan" for reasons:

1. When I see "Railroads" I expect a japanese railroad included in it, a variation of rail in the game (maybe a gray railroad [with a cement ground texture, not dirt], a wide railroad, or a new rail bridge like those european/american road bridges they already added in the game).
2. When I see "Japan" I expect japanese train like the Shinkansen, I mean that's a japanese pride why is there no shinkansen in this pack. It would've been cool if the pack also introduced maglevs.
3. Like the korean assets the japanese assets just doesn't work in Cities Skylines, because the base game is based of American and European cities, Asian assets really look alien when you plop them in the game.

Maybe I had high expectations. The assets are really good, but the DLC is a bit misleading and lacking something that should have been included in the pack.

A solid hybrid of Fallout 3, Half Life 2 (and surprisingly it even has a bit of Left 4 Dead in it). There are obvious bugs (not game breaking and can be ignored) and crashes (only if you have steam overlay turned on).

Among the trilogy IMO this is the best as this has better progression and action despite lacking the good features that the later STALKER games have like fast travel and shortcut keys for items.

Seriously, just stay the hell away from this game. Everything is just designed awful (the rubber banding, the cops spawn, the handling, very low race rewards, hell even the crash cams are back). They've also lied with the ability to turn off the effects.

Criterion does not deserve this franchise, and EA should have shut down Criterion and not Ghost Games.

I fully regret that I paid full price on this thing on release, and seeing it half the price a month later explains just how awful this game is in comparison to NFS Heat.

This DLC is not just a DLC car, it also add additional races, outfits, vanity items (effects, horn, tire smoke, back fire) to the game. You will however have to finish challenges to be able to use the items.

For its price I think it's fine, but there is also part of me thinking that this DLC should have been part of the the deluxe edition. The DLC should be acceptable for those who like yellow effects and the McLaren brand.

I never had the adrenaline while being chased by rozzers in Need For Speed since Most Wanted/Carbon. The night time experience in this game is amazing (the races and the graphics of the game are better at night, cops are only aggressive at night, and earning that 'Cashing In' achievement is fun). The day time experience however is boring and wayyy too repetitive (you will end up playing the same high-paying circuit races to get more money quick, hard mode is also way too easy in day time races due to lack of cops). The story is uninteresting but you can just completely avoid it to progress. Having car customization is good like the classic games, but some vehicles lack options/variety.

Overall, while it has flaws, it still managed to bring back the classic NFS experience in a modern engine.
