Its just fun.

Its not serious, its not competitive.

Its lighthearted, cooperative, fun. Even at its worst, when player counts dropped and it got review bombed, its still just an extremely entertaining game. Highly recommend for people sick of the the grind and toxicity of PVP games.

played with a friend for about 4-5 hours trying to get Legian plates for my ice hammer. he got like 10 of them, i gave up and switched weapons.
10/10 never want to play this game again

if you're new to horror games, play this with friend's
It's kind of hard to decide of its more of a puzzle game or a horror game. And yes, i know its both. but at one moment you're racking your brain, trying to figure out what ghost it is, the other part, your friend just got his neck snapped but you gotta go back in to gather more intel on what ghost it is. and let me tell you, having a friend, and then your friend dies is much scarier than simply going solo since the start, and that's the scariest part if you ask me.
there is only one "bad thing" i noticed, which i basically have learnt how to counter act.
but something that i found after my 3rd or 4th game was that, the game stopped being scary. don't get me wrong- the chase will always make me stop my breath in fear of it hearing me, but it loses its edge after a while.
if your main attraction to this game is the progression, then this might not be a problem, as you would probably continue finding enjoyment.
but if you enjoy the horror aspect more, then i found a solution that worked for me.
switch the map. i know, revolutionary. when you play on the same map, you learn where you can hide, where the ghost can be, and the general fear aspect mostly disappears. simply changing the map to a harder one will circumvent this. i played on the first levels like 5-10 times, and i started getting bored. then i jumped on asylum, and let me tell you. we got lucky the first time. a ghost event on that map is spooky to say the least

anyways, extremely fun with friends. highly recommend

i remember playing this game 'bout 1 year ago. i played it for about 1-2 hours with some friends of mine, and thought it was boring as all hell.
one of my newer friends asked if i wanted to play it with him, at first i said no, because i didn't think it was fun.
but after about 20 min of having nothing to do, i said "♥♥♥♥ it, lets try again" and we played...
for 10 hours strait.
the reason i hated the game before, was because i wanted to have fun and build ♥♥♥♥, while my friends wanted to progress, and thus i found it hard to enjoy the game when we moved to a "better" location every 30 min.
i now have 20 hours on the game and have built a village filled with a bunch of ♥♥♥♥, because it was fun, with my friend.

if you are going to play this game, know that playing it slowly is much more rewarding

my only regret is not having the DLC
