I take Steam reviews a bit too seriously sometimes, probably because I wasted so much time and money on an art degree.
Also, I stream occasionally (usually Saturdays) and am working on game/narrative analysis content. Check out my channel with the link, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsXNuRv6JsDpBv19bC9up5Q/videos

rainy night, 3am -- A Poem
My blanket wrapped around every inch of me gives the soft, comforting warmth of a friend's fond hug. The downpour invites petrichor to my naked face, poking out of my blanket's nest as a curious turtle from its shell-- flaring my nostrils and taking in every last particle of air my lungs can hold. Sleep hungry eyes puff against the chilly waves of wind blowing through the half-open window, eyelids and blanket too heavy to care. The moonlight refracts off the puddle outside, its small ripples seen in the wavy moon dancing on the window's glass. A single bird hides under a tree, chirping with each drop of water that hits the leaves above him. The downpour roars on, as the puddle grows with the moonlight enveloping my dainty bedroom in the house's corner-- a spotlight on an otherwise forgettable room. The bird takes flight, perching onto the window's corner, just below the roof, and chirps at me. Damp feathers reflect the moonlight around us, its eyes are as black as the night's sky.

It's as if David Lynch created a video game. This is a horror game that will stick with you, its story is a rubix cube begging to be solved--and solving it becomes an obsession.

Atmosphere in this game is a suffocating prison; if you treat the game with the respect it treats you, then you'll come to find just how much passion was put into every little detail. It's best to go into this mystery as blind as possible, but the game has some mysteries that just simply can't be solved alone. Some may find that annoying, but it's deliberate in its design, and it somehow bolsters the game's immersion. This is a clever horror game, one that makes you question what's real and what isn't. It's also a game that goes as deep as you want it to.

I can't recall a game that's as immersive and as creative as Who's Lila?, it's a labor of love that can terrify you, then bring you to tears. Its story draws from philosophy, psychology, spirituality, literature, and film; it's a captivating, beautiful little story that will stick with you. Its intelligent story is paired with intelligent design, everything from the content in game to the content found outside of the game (guides, discussions) have been anticipated by the game's creator. How many games can you point to which have a game guide written by the game creator? In this way, I wonder if the developer intended this game to be dissected inside and out by anyone and everyone willing to research it. It's also a great way to make the game accessible.

This game's got style, and every part of it is deliberate. Don't be fooled by my total playtime, I've purchased and played through most of the game on Itch, and decided to get a Steam copy to support the dev further. I haven't played a game that has taken as many creative risks and gone through as many lengths as this game has, and it's safe to say that this game's worth your time.

After all, it's not every day that a game makes me question myself. It's also not every day that a game propels itself onto my all-time favorites list--not just favorite games list, favorite anything list. Please check this game out if you're interested.
