While there are a lot of positives about this game (many of the positive reviews will tell you that) it's simply not enough. It's a fun game reminiscent of rising storm/RO2 and fills the void as a battlefield-esque shooter. The class system is *decent* and combat is... Divisive. Some people hate the "Mostly Bolt Actions/1s1k" combat but as someone rethinking the glory days of Hardcore CoD:WaW- This scratches that itch.

However,
The player base is dwindling *rapidly*. I got in on the free weekend and tonnes of people seemed to hop on as well. Unfortunately I think everyone noticed the biggest issue with the game.

There's just no reason to keep playing. I've played 20 hrs and I can confidently say I experienced everything the game has to offer in the first 10 hours.
Notice how a large portion of the positive reviews are roughly within the 0-30 hrs area? The free weekend had 5k+ players try it out and only 1 week later about 80% of those players already gave up.
Half the class unlocks are useless by comparison (Maybe I'm missing something but why would you run canteen on officer? Does speed really overtake flares?), there's no encouragement to actually work as a team (I.E. Voice Chat- I've seen pretty consistently people just get told to shut up), 1 scope per team is just ridiculous and I don't even care for sniping (if you don't have an SSD, no scope for you- sorry), no resupply points so you are praying one of your 14 riflemen will drop an ammo crate (they won't) so that you can actually function as the officer/mountaineer class w/ flares, and this game is only a year old and already limping.

I would have left this as a positive review with a caveat- but with the release of ANOTHER DLC- I think it's safe to say this isn't going to get better. We're at 7(?) cosmetic DLC's now pricing around $100 for a game that has consistently had less than 500 people playing through most of it's life.

I will say I enjoyed my 20 hours- and I do believe it's a decent game, but I wouldn't recommend it because it's time is clearly already running up. Without some serious QoL improvements and actual (Non-paid) content updates, I don't think Isonzo has a lot left in it.

I hope I'm wrong, but for now it's a no- even at the $14 (CAD) sale price.

For future FS games I think you are probably better off waiting for a job posting to open up as a play tester so that you can actually be paid for your time instead of paying them for the privilege of being their guinea pig.

Darktide itself is good enough 'till you hit max level. An EA tag would have been nice- I'd argue that had they just labelled it as early access they would have retained *at least* 10% of the player base instead of the 4% or so they are at now.
