I love this game, it's great fun with a mix of strategy and luck.

Fun game. Updated frequently. Fantasy Overwatch. Not Pay to Win.

The Battle pass gives you something to work towards and rewards you along the way(you get enough crystals from the daily login to get you the battle pass).

DO NOT BUY THE CHAMPIONS PACK - huge rip-off see below.

You can buy the champions with gold you earn from matches but what makes this a real kick in a painful place is that it was supposed to replace the Founders Pack(which included both champions and all voices for them for 20 USD) with this which only includes the champions.

Edit: The following has changed, you can purchase the voice pack with gold(earned by playing) as well as crystals now(Champions pack still isn't worth it, though). Each champion voice costs 200 crystals(which costs 5 USD) which is insane with 40 champions. The "Best Value" 8000 crystal pack costs 100 USD and is just enough to buy all the voices.

An interesting, fun but short game that's well worth playing.

The story isn't the greatest, but I didn't expect a great story from it(or any at all to be honest, so it was kind of a bonus).

One of the better platformers I've played in a long time. You get a few upgrades over time to help with mobility. There are no enemies you need to worry about(well, one for a few minutes but you don't fight it).

The story isn't great but the setting is pretty neat.

Gameplay is satisfying. Not too easy and not too difficult for the most part - a few places near the end are a bit frustrating. There are generally easy sections after a very difficult one and checkpoints are normally in a good location.

Play it blind(no research) to get the most out of it.

It's worth the time to play through it a few times.

Length: It's short, only about an hour(including reading the documents), not even enough time for the trading cards to all drop(I received one). There is the promise of future content but that should be considered a possible bonus as the devs seem to have moved on to another project(their last mention of light seems to have been in August of 2014).

Gameplay: The gameplay is simple, including only a few npc types(guard, civilian, and objective). A basic understanding of timing is required to get around guard patrol routes but there are very few frantic moments and no tension. The game would benefit if it included a higher difficulty level. There is only one achievement that is not progression based(additional achievements such as "Complete the game without being detected" or "Complete the game with no kills(aside from story kills)" would be something to work towards). There is a small amount of replay value. You are given a point value for completing the missions, although without a leaderboard there is little reason to have it.

Story: The storyline is very basic and seems to be there only to chain the levels together.

Controls: There is partial controller support which requires the use of the keyboard and mouse. Proper controller support would work well for the game. The keyboard controls are adequate. You can rebind keys if you need to(but not to the controller).

Sound: By default the soundtrack drowns out the sound effects(which are very minimal in any case). The soundtrack is decent and fits with the game(see the trailer above). It's included in the game directory as wav files - I would have preferred a format that included metadata(both flac and mp3 could have been provided and less space would have been used). There are sliders to change the music and effects volume levels in the settings menu.

Graphics: The graphics are minimalistic. The video gives you a good idea of what to expect. There are several options to change in the settings menu.

Overall I would say the game is good but there could be quite a bit of improvement. Due to the limited replayability I do not believe the game is worth the current asking price but if found at 75% off it would be a good purchase if you like this type of game.

Despite it's flaws I found it a good game and recommend it if you understand going in that it's not a complete game and may never be(I would have been quite angry if I had bought it at it's asking price but it's an excellent game at the two dollar mark).

The game seems to be the first third of the game as it takes place entirely in one location(aside from a training mission). I expected two more Panama length segments of the game(as I did not know it was episodic).

The level design is good(albeit limited) as is the story(thus far - the surprise to be continued ending sucked).

The graphics are by no means awesome but also not akin to 90s graphics as some people have been saying. While the models are low polygon(by todays standards) the textures are far superior to those of the 90s. There are occasional rendering glitches which last less than a second which mostly happen when you're performing takedowns.

The animations are limited. There seems to be only one animation available for special moves(such as takedowns) which becomes repetitive quickly(they also don't take place where you initiate them but move them into a larger nearby area, then move you back to where you were). The speech animations seem to be the only thing that could have been ported from the original Deus Ex.

The voice acting is ok aside from the tutorial lady.

There is no physics that I noticed at all aside from gravity. There are no movable items so you can't even stack crates nostalgically. That brings me to my next point: you can't jump. I missed jumping greatly as it could have allowed more complex level design.

Overall the controls are mostly usable but suffer from their tablet roots. The dialogue controls are bad. The interface controls fail to register the first click frequently. There also seems to be a dead zone where you can't activate items in the world(I can hack something 3 feet away, 1 foot away, but not 2 feet away for some reason).

There is only one save slot(both manual and quick saves use the same file which is overwritten on every map change (which is often).

Vaulting over barriers was hit or miss(mostly miss) as it seems you need to be in just the right spot for it to work.

The hacking mini game was the same as in DX:HR(which I quite enjoyed) although it seemed to suffer from interface issues.

I enjoyed the game while it lasted(under 4 hours for the first act) but I was expecting it to be difficult like the adventure games of the past but it was rather easy(you will most likely not need to consult a walkthrough).

As a backer for the same price I recieved the documentary which easily made the purchase price worth it. Without the documentary(aka purchasing it through Steam) I'm not sure if it's worth full price.
