There are many stereotypes about this game. I mean, everybody knows about Russians who plays dust 2 only and their best strategy is to rush B bombsite with p90. People are toxic, cheaters and smurfers in every match and so on...

But...its not that bad. This game requires many hours of practice and learning. And you will learn something new every day. I really mean that, every time you play this game you learn something. This is the main reason I would recommend this game.

Gunplay feels weird and outdated at first, but when you learn recoil patterns for most popular weapons it feels good as hell. First bullet inaccuracy is very frustrating and should be fixed but Valve disagrees...

Competitive is the most popular gamemode and the main reason to play this game. You get matched with people ranked around your rank group and depending of your and yours team performance you can be placed in higher or lower group. It's a 5v5 bomb scenario with terrorists trying to plant the bomb and counter terrorists trying to stop them. Other game modes like deathmatch, casual, demolition and arms race are mostly used as warmup for competitive mode.

There are around 10 maps in competitive pool which is enough. Varoius layouts of the map offers many great strategies to outsmart your opponents.

Valve should redesign steam page of this game and find a way to communicate more with the community. New Panorama UI was great and much needed change. Also, mp5 update and economy changes are great. We hope for many great updates in years to come.
