The game was a fun dungeon runner with a fun equipment system before.
You could collect loot, merge it to get better
and dismantle stuff you don't need anymore and still get some of the stats.

Now you can only merge some stuff.
It isn't explaining which items and why you can merge them or why not.
The additional stats make the game much more complex,
so in coop you spend more looking at and shuffling items, than fighting and progressing.

It was fun while it lasted.
Honestly stay away from the game, while the devs try to figure out what this game wants to be.
This feels more like an Early Access game than a released one.

Like promised an updated review:
I got the game running, tho I have to either turn down the resolution to 1080p
or have to set the render scale to 0.7x, which makes the game a bit blurry.
Setting it to 0.5x gets rid of the blur, but now I run effectively at half the resolution.
But hey it is a indie game with a single dev, so let's cut them some slack.

On the topic of the dev, they respond to bug reports and put out patches quite fast, which is a good sign, especially in the day and age of abandoning games shortly after release.

To the game itself- it is a fun little casual game - floating around collecting trash and building your own little platform with simple factory.
Not really challenging, but something chill with the occasional easy fire fight.

So if you don't mind playing at a lower resolution, consider buying it.

Old review the devs replied to:
Sadly couldn't really play the game as it is choppy and unplayable with 10-15 FPS.
Despite being over the recommended specs, I get 100% GPU usage. CPU, RAM and I/O is fine.
Wrote a bug report and will see if it gets fixed before I have to refund it.

Will update the review, when I can actually play the game.

This is one of the "I would rate it neutral if it was an option" cases.

Generally it is a fun game, which I would recommend AFTER a few more updates/fixes.

Currently the balancing of costs and income is a bit off and you basically have to play the game a few hours to figure out what you are struggling with and then restart the game with custom difficulty to make up for the balancing.

For example:
Do you like to micro manage each docking process or would you prefer to turn down how much aligned you need to be to successfully dock?
Do you like to take breaks on your route to make sure your trucks systems won't give out in the middle of the road oder would you prefer to just drive?
How much of an impact should an impact with space trash have? (On default it can force you to save scum quite easily if you are strapped for cash.)

The other thing that annoys me is that you can take damage while being docked.
You are in the way of an delivery drone? Too bad, now your hull has a hole.
You docked in the middle of an electric storm? Better be fast while shopping or looking for a new haul before your systems get fried.

Like I said the game is fun, but all these minor annoyances and bugs make the game frustrating in the long run.

Well, to make a long story short: I don't like the changes they made on release.

One of the unique and most fun aspects of the game got nerfed, if not remove - exploration.
The previously gorgeous huge map got split into lots of smaller parts and you now transfer between them via elevator. You no longer explore by digging towards interesting caves, along rivers or small blips on your radar, but instead craft digging items, which you feed to an elevator, which in turn unlocks the different levels.

Still if you like factory games get this game,
but if you are into exploration follow the game and watch if they rollback the changes. (one can hope, right?)

Original EA review:
Same disclaimer as always: This game is in Early Access, so buy it if you wanna support the development of a game which is interesting to you, but don't buy it if you expect a finished, bug-free and balanced game.

Other than that if you like factory building games buy it. You even get a great atmosphere, a massive explorable area and a intriguing story alongside it.

It already has a lot of content, tho late game barely got scratched.
It also has a lot of the story complete and the voice actors are a good choice and are brilliant.

It has some bugs, but I didn't experience anything game breaking - the worst was falling out of the map or getting stuck, but it has a respawn button and the worst is that you need to walk back to where you were.
It also needs a bit of QoL. Digging stays a bit clunky/annoying. (It has some progression, but I would like to see more easier options for digging for late game, so I can build bigger factories faster, instead of building scaffolding and slowly mining out space before building.) Also the Jetpack is a bit clunky.

But that's it, everything else seemed to work as intended.

So again, if you like the factory building genre - this game is a big yes.

Early Access Review
Let me prephrase this with the usual Early Access warning -
This game is in development.
Buy it if you wanna support it in hopefully becoming a great game.
Don't buy it if you expect a full game without any bugs, with full features and smooth GUIs.

This game is a great space sim and potential RPG (not a whole lot there yet besides the beginnings of some plots).

It has a fantastic vibe, you feel like a poor worker starting out with your tin can of a ship to slowly illegally strip down ships for their components and avoid patrols until you get enough money to buy licenses, expand your ship and pay off your mortgage.

For now it has a bunch of different mechanics, some more complete than others, some buggier than others.
- building your char (stats, skills and customisation)
- doing small one-time jobs (deliver stuff, talk to NPCs, explore wrecks)
- a few different plot lines
- survival elements (pay attention to hunger, thirst and most importantly your air and its mixture)
- ingame ship building
- building systems for automated management of the air in your ship (N2, O2, CO2, temperature)
- power management (reactors, batteries, switches, power cables and consumers)
- hiring and managing a crew
- salvaging of derelicts and selling the parts either through legal means or via the black market (if you can find it)
- meaningful interactions with NPCs (satisfy the social needs of your char and/or your crew, lower accrued fines, unlock the black market, get infos/hint for quests, ...
- inventory tetris on multiple levels (in the world, your inventory and the nested inventories of containers, backpacks and crates)
- real-time fighting system with unarmed close quarter, armed close quarter and ranged, with blocking, dodging and movement
- pausing, slowing down or speeding up of ingame time

Tho be warned it has a steep learning curve and while there is a small tutorial and an ingame documentation, there will be a lot of trial and error.
And a pro tip turn up the autosave frequency, the max amount of autosave and get into a habit of regularly saving manually. There are some events that can be catastrophic for your playthrough and also some unexpected behaviour and bugs.

So if you can ignore the rough edges you can spend a ton of time and have a lot of fun in the game and slowly building up your tin can into a huge multicrew hauler.

Sells your data to advertisers and has massive graphics problems.

I recommend waiting for fixes and offline mode to avoid data leaks.

Well, basically this game is very rough around the edges.

There are bugs.
It draws much too much performance from the graphics card for the quality of graphics it has.
And some features straight up feel unfinished.

Also it forces you to use yet another launcher and it does just straight up install it on C no dialogue no nothing...

There are better game from indie studios out there.

Early Access Review
First of all this is one of these cases where I wish Steam would have a neutral rating option.

It is a nice game, but for me it isn't quite there yet, especially for the price.
It is Early Access, so there is hope things are getting fixed.

Bugs
- my mech constantly gets stuck at the Mech Upgrade Station
- one of tutorial quests got stuck, so I had to start over

Performance
- my RTX 3070 is constantly at 100% usage
- but no lag or stutter

(Anti-)QoL
- you have to wait the 2s the tool switch animation needs to play, when switching tools, which is especially annoying when you are collecting ressources and are constantly switching tool
- your mech can stumble over rocks, which means you have to hold E to get out of it, hold E to place it upright again and hold E again to get back into it
- as soon as you wanna work in more than 2 biomes you need friends otherwise the time a day has is just too short

Vibe
- fun and chill music
- cute critters
- well the voice over is hit-or-miss - the clean voice with an southern accent feels mismatched - for me either a clean voice without the accent or a raspy voice with the accent would fit better, but I know this is highly subjective

Content/Progression
- there seems to be a ton of content
- sadly it seems every single item is hardlocked behind some kind of progression mechanism (wanna build the trader landing pad? > needs red crystals > needs cleanup of biome for regen of resources; also needs better tool > needs certain oil > needs certain crop > needs certain seed; also needs certain building > needs another crafted resource > needs mined resource > needs to feed critters for better regen of resources > needs food > needs another oil > needs to collect a bunch of bushes)
Yeah you need some kind of progression, but it feels kind forced as if there isn't enough content, so you have to grind for every little bit and that despite the trailer showing so much of it.

Overall I can only give my usual recommendation for Early Access, get it if you wanna support the development, but wait if you want to play a full and polished game.

Nice little game.
I really like that it is released free of charge and without any pay2win, cosmetic stuff or ads. That's very rare nowadays.
Definitely try it out!
