So, I saw this game on a YouTube advertisement and thought, "Wow, another 3D anime game! Guess I won't be spending my money." When it came out, I heard it was practically a Souls-like game. I'm quite the sucker for Souls-like and difficult games, so I tried it out.
Before I bought it, I asked people if they bought it and I got the replies "it's like Dark Souls but anime." The ♥♥♥♥, what do you mean "anime?" I can tell just by looking at it. They then told me otherwise and said it was ANIME. Alright, thanks for the heads up. Going in, character creation: Male or female. Then, I figured out what they meant. 90% of the costumes have 90% skin showing. I can't have that on my gaming platform, so I uninstalled the game and got a refund so I chose the most covered option there is. The rest, well, if you ever played a game with in depth character creators, you know how that goes.
The game play is what you expect from a Souls-like game: difficult and wondering why you didn't roll. This game, however, adores partners and it seems like the game wants you to use them... a lot. They practically give you one from the start of the game. It's great and all, I won't die as much but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, they. won't. shut. up! So, I went to a checkpoint, and said my goodbyes. I'm really just complaining about something small, I enjoy the game very much.
Oh, and another aspect of anime is that the cutscenes are what you expect from a shonen anime.
$60 well worth spent.
