The game is fun. Don't be dissuaded by PoE 1 purists who can't wipe their own аrsе without a detailed step-by-step guide.

If Path of Exile 1 is a mathematical problem, Path of Exile 2 is a practical problem. It's not about charting spreadsheets, you can't just copy someone else's homework when it comes to managing engagements and fighting bosses in PoE 2 - you have to learn it yourself. Don't want to get body-blocked by a horde of mobs? Lure them and fight them on your terms using map layout to your advantage. Struggling with the boss? Pay attention to what they're doing, be patient instead of trying to faceroll them despite lacking the means. Practice makes perfect.
"Situational Awareness" is not a skill gem that you could just equip to solve all your problems, that's something you have to do yourself.
Of course math is still useful, bigger numbers make things easier, but it's a fundamentally different experience. Much better one, in my subjective view.

While I haven't played the first game all that much, it's enough to be able to appreciate its depth and unmatched variety of options for player expression that it offers. That said, the way it plays in endgame is just not appealing to me - even though there could be layers upon layers of complexity underlying a build, it all comes down to putting numbers together so you could zoom through maps clicking a single button (or not clicking anything at all) as the entire screen turns into a mess that migraines are made of. I just don't find it engaging.
A lot of PoE players treat campaign and leveling as a formality standing in the the way of that, not something to enjoy. Well, Path of Exile 2 is made to keep you engaged throughout. The game is hard until you get the hang of it, it expects you to make use of all the tools you're given to solve problems you encounter.

Game looks awesome, I was worried my average at best rig would be struggling, but surprisingly it runs silky smooth... Until you're in the hub with over a dozen other players wearing all sorts of flashy MTX, but it was the same for me in PoE 1. Sound design is also impeccable. The game is impressive both from artistic and technical standpoint. It definitely feels like a next step in the evolution of ARPG genre, even if it's rough around the edges. You can trust GGG to handle it.
It's technically only half of the game, or at least full release version. If PoE 1 is anything to go by, you can expect tons of content that would make this experience even richer down the road. In my opinion it's a solid start.

I'll advise to play with WASD regardless of class, you'll benefit greatly from added control, and it simply feels really good.

I realize that this "review" is all over the place, I just came back after a long day at work wanting nothing more but to play more of this game, so I'm a bit scatterbrained. Saw a lot of clips from people trying to play PoE 2 as if it's PoE 1, even starting in hardcore (wish I had that kind of confidence), and blaming the game for their own inadequacy and unwillingness to adapt. It was rather frustrating, so I thought I'd leave a positive review in case someone comes to check out the game with that experience in mind.
I think it's a very good game, with much yet to be discovered.

Actually, pretty damn fun! Of course you won't be able to get away from the fact that this was supposed to be a game as a service while playing it, but the upside is that you get to enjoy that experience without its worst aspect - other people!
All that said, game doesn't seem to be well optimized. While my rig is far from high end, after playing on high settings for a few hour it started making sounds I've never heard from it before, really got them fans working. So I had to lower some settings, kinda helped, though I still get frame drops for seemingly no reason.
Really hope enough people get and play the game for developers to continue refining it, it has potential even as a singeplayer/coop game, it's a cool world.

I've spent majority of the free weekend (I didn't play all of it, mind you, only the last two days more or less) felling trees, hunting and gathering herbs, got to level 34 doing mostly just that. It's sort of meditative.
The combat system is, uh... it's there. The world looks wonderful, cozy.
Game is worth getting if you have a proclivity for gathering and hoarding stuff at the very least, dunno about the rest of it.
I would've bought it if I could, but they literally wouldn't take my money because I was unfortunate enough to live in Russia.
Not sure how robbing the sane few Russians of their escapism would help to change Putin's mind or topple authoritarian police state, but oh well.

Roboquest is hands down one of the best first person shooters I've ever played, as far as shooting is concerned.
Feeling like a total badass blasting things left and right as I zip around the level (definitely use jetpack once you unlock it).
Weapons feel great and there's good variety too. That being said, there's not much content at the moment in terms of levels and game modes, but the foundation is very solid.
I see comparisons to Gunfire Reborn here, and they're indeed very similar. I'd say gunplay is better in this one, but the overall product is a lot less complete.

Looking forward to more, this game was a pleasant surprise.

Killing time was never this fun! Time and thousands upon thousands of poor natives of the planets you invade during your journey.

Recent "reviews" are very salty, but they really belong to the feedback section of the forums and not here.
I'm sure new players will have different impression about the game in its current state. Not all, mind you, because there's no game that appeals to everyone, but i just hope you will form your own opinion about it. After all it's free to download and play.

Ignore reviews, just try it out.

I play games to escape onslaught of ideological nonsense in real life, among other things. These degens claimed an entire month for themselves in order to be a constant eyesore and are acting surprised that some people aren't pleased with it. Digital Extremes couldn't even wait until June actually started to push out "Pride" garbage this time around.
I'm not going to waste time trying to explain why it's wrong, people who cares to know already do, people on the opposite side will never listen. I'm merely expressing my annoyance with it, making myself heard.
The writing in the game went downhill since The Sacrifice as well, and I think I now know why.
