So I do a lot of microtasking, like for Amazon's Mechanical Turk service. And today, I'm doing a bunch of stuff involving chatbots.

Apparently you were talking with Cleverbot, or a similar type chatbot, and (for whatever reason) decided to share your Steam Profile to the bot. Why? I really don't know. But you did. I'm not sure when you did (I only had access to about 40 lines back and forth between the two of you, no other identifiers or dates.)

But yeah..on a lark, I decided to check the url you gave it, and it led me here.

So just for reference, yes, it's true: literally anything you put online is in the wild FOREVER.

also, thanks all for the reports so far - I used to have SIX accounts tagged as "!SCAMMER!" in my friends list, and that's just after having only one single friend join in with reporting. Now there's just 3.

I've never had my account stolen (open suspicious links in private windows of an updated browser and check the SSL cert before entering your password ); but you never know how many unsuspecting kids' days are going to be made VERY un-fun by these scammers.

And I really want to emphasize, be extra extra careful around the links sent by "Rachel" (third link below). It doesn't get much more dangerous than that one, unless you're actually getting hit with browser 0days.
