Thumbs up from me but with some caveats.



Chances are if you are massive fan of Star Wars, the old X-Wing and TIE Fighter games you have already bought it. If you are waiting on payday/skint then don't worry, you will love it. This review is more for any fence sitters out there.



Now I'm 17 odd hours into it and finished the main campaign I can honestly say with a bigger budget this could have been a classic game as good as any of its spiritual processors. With a 14-mission campaign and two multiplayer modes there just isn’t enough content to keep you interested for now long term and to justify the price. My advice would be if you are unsure if this game is for you, I would wait for a sale.

What it does well it does really well. The feeling of edge of the seat dogfighting, especially in VR is amazing, Fleet battles are really good fun and for fans of Rebels, Alphabet Squadron and the TIE Fighter comics there are some great little references, cameo’s and Easter eggs.

People are already asking for expansion packs and new content but I believe this was a wonderful experiment to see if there was still a market for this type of game. I think we are more likely to see a Squadrons 2 with a bigger budget and more content than we will see much more released for this version of the game but I hope I’m wrong.

Think I need a few more hours before I can make an educated decision if i like it or not.

In a world where you can starve to death in less than 12 hours! In a world where the only two zombies you see in an hours playtime have overpowered billions of people and seemingly hundreds of other players! Where all the containers are empty! Where another player will spend half an hour hitting you with a hammer on a PVE server because there is nothing else to do. A game who's very name makes no sense! This is H1Z1.......From the company who made the best mmorpg in the world....Then broke it.
